Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance recently appeared on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, talking everything from the 2024 presidential election, to his life in public office, and even gave a rare glimpse into his private life.
Including a fairly surprising admission of his guilty pleasure he likes to watch on television.
Vance revealed to Rogan that one of his favorite new shows is the Netflix show “Emily in Paris.”
Vance even dubbed the show a “masterpiece.”
He declared his love for the American-French romantic comedy-drama television series, starring Lily Collins.
“We’re back at our house in Cincinnati the weekend after the RNC convention and we’re sitting there, watching, like, some stupid show, ‘Emily in Pari’s on Netflix, or something – which, sorry, I don’t mean to call that a stupid show,” he said to Rogan, as he caught himself.
“I actually think ‘Emily in Paris’ is a masterpiece,” he said.
“But set that to the side, bracket that one for now,” Vance continued, as he and Rogan chuckled.
According to Nielsen data, viewership of the “Emily in Paris” Season 2 premiere was 77 percent female, according to The Wrap. Season 2 of “Emily in Paris” was the most-watched show on Netflix in 2022.
Vance’s somewhat surprising admission was part of a larger conversation where Vance opened up about being thrust into the public spotlight and the impact it’s had on his family.
Vance admitted that it was difficult for his children to grasp his new lifestyle while running for vice president as there isn’t much private family time without Secret Service agents too far away. He said he used to be the driver during family outings and now his children are being asked to get into a chauffeured SUV with him also as a passenger.
