Former FBI Director James Comey used to be the top lawman in America.
Now, he’s a man without a country — neither Republicans, nor Democrats want anything to do with Comey. And former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign just reminded Comey of that the hard way.
Biden has spent the past several days collecting just about any endorsement he can get – including endorsements from former rivals like Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. and Pete Buttigieg.
But Biden’s campaign wasn’t interested in a Comey endorsement.
On Tuesday, Comey sent a tweet to his followers, announcing that he was supporting Biden.
Voted in first Dem primary to support party dedicated to restoring values in WH. I agree with @amyklobuchar: We need candidate who cares about all Americans and will restore decency, dignity to the office. There is a reason Trump fears @joebiden and roots for Bernie. #Biden2020

Comey claimed that America needed a candidate “who cares about all Americans and will restore decency” to the White House. He added that President Donald Trump is afraid of Biden, before signing off with the #Biden2020 hashtag.
The only problem? Biden’s campaign couldn’t run from Comey fast enough.
Yes, customer service? I just received a package that I very much did not order. How can I return it, free of charge? https://t.co/NK4VrYGzT1

Biden campaign staffer Andrew Bates quickly and sarcastically responded, writing, “Yes, customer service? I just received a package that I very much did not order. How can I return it, free of charge?”
In other words, the Biden camp has absolutely no interest in making nice with Comey.
Comey has garnered a great deal of media attention for his public spats with Trump. So it’s easy to forget that the left despises Comey, too.
Under Comey’s leadership, the FBI reopened an investigation into former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton just days before the 2016 election. Many Democrats believe Comey’s oddly-timed decision may have cost Clinton the race.
Comey has been active on Twitter over the past year, with about 1.3 million followers.
But there’s a difference between followers and friends – and, in Comey’s case, friends seem pretty hard to come by these days.
