If you ever have to hire somebody, give the job to the person who’s already doing it.
If Americans follow that, they won’t hire Kamala Harris, whose tenure as Border Czar has seen America’s borders explode with record-breaking numbers of cartels, human traffickers, international criminal syndicates, and illegal aliens of all descriptions.
But it turns out that Senator J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, has already visited the border as much in the last week as Kamala Harris has during her entire time as President Joe Biden’s border czar.
The Republican vice presidential candidate visited Arizona’s Cochise County last week, calling the lawless borderland between the United States and its southern neighbor a “smugger’s paradise.”
Kamala Harris came into office making promises, and she kept those promises to open the American southern border,” Vance told people. “They stopped deportations on Day One. They stopped construction of the border wall on Day One.” The Biden-Harris administration also reinstated the useless catch-and-release policy for Border Patrol agents and repealed Donald Trump’s Remain-in-Mexico policy.
Vance even pointed to the partially finished barrier that Donald Trump constructed during his first term in office. “We see the border wall sitting here, ready to be completed behind us, and that can’t happen because of Kamala Harris’s administration.”
“As terrible and idiotic as these policies were, they caused real human beings to suffer,” Vance told the crowd. “There are a lot of kids out there who have been deprived of second chances with their moms and dads” because of the fentanyl Harris has let cross the border.

Since the day Joe Biden put her in charge of stemming the flow of immigration, Harris has been hounded by the fact that she’s hardly bothered to pretend she cares about the situation.
In an early speech after becoming Border Czar, Kamala Harris weakly told caravans of illegals seeking to enter the U.S., “Do not come.”
It didn’t help—and even friendly reporters in the mainstream media began to notice.

Eventually, she went to the border—800 miles away from the crisis point—for a photo opportunity before jetting back to D.C., never to return to the border.
Things were so bad, some Republicans wanted to pass new legislation forcing her to show up.
“President Biden’s Senior Cabinet Member and so-called ‘Border Czar’ Kamala Harris has wholly dismissed and ignored her responsibility to address and solve this crisis,” said Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas. “She only visited the southern border once for a short photo op, far away from where the crisis is taking place, and only after receiving pressure from my Republican colleagues and me. Her visit proved to be nothing more than a failed attempt to quiet her critics.”
He got so tired of waiting for Harris to get to the border, he introduced the Border Czar Accountability Act, which would have required any Cabinet-level official the president appointed to lead efforts related to immigration or securing the U.S.-Mexico border to visit that border every 60 days.
That’s not entirely fair to Kamala. She actually did visit the border once as a U.S. senator: She took part in a demonstration on the U.S. border with Mexico at San Diego to protest President Trump’s border security policies.
On June 22, 2018, Harris called Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration as a “human rights abuse” and “a crime against humanity.”
As aliens and radical activists paraded along the border many had recently illegally crossed, they held signs calling on the next president to “Abolish ICE” and open the border.
“We stand with you,” Harris said.
A few moments ago I finished visiting with mothers who were separated from their children at the border. I can tell you they are in utter despair. The stories they shared with me paint a picture of human rights abuses being committed by our government. We are so much better this. pic.twitter.com/lEeIOtEjWU

By the time she ran for office in 2020, she called Donald Trump’s big, beautiful border wall a “vanity project.” She even seemed to say the border crisis is a figment of President Trump’s imagination.
Kamala Harris called the tide of illegal aliens overrunning the southern border nothing more than “an emergency of his (Trump’s) own creation.”
Now, she’s suddenly pivoted to being tough-on-crime, including illegal immigration.
She’s now flashing back to her time as California attorney general. “I walked underground tunnels between the United States and Mexico,” she said. “I went after transnational gangs, drug cartels and human traffickers that came into our country illegally. I prosecuted them in case after case, and I won.”
If the border becomes a pivotal issue in the 2024 election—and Americans look at who’s really doing the job—that long-ago court case will be the last time Kamala Harris can say, “I won.”
