What scared former President Barack Obama to death while he was in the White House?
It wasn’t nuclear war with North Korea… it wasn’t going to jail for high crimes or treason… it wasn’t even losing power.
According to former House Majority Speaker John Boehner, Obama was “scared to death” of one thing: former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Speaking to POLITICO Magazine, Boehner talked about his retirement from political office and his smoking habits — two-packs a day — when he brought up Obama.
Obama had quit smoking at the behest of his wife in 2011, and wouldn’t even dare to sneak any for fear his wife would explode on him.
Asked if he’d seen Obama cheat and have a cigarette, Boehner repied: “Oh no. No no no. He’s scared to death of his wife. Scared. To. Death.”
When comparing himself to Obama, Boehner brought up a 2011 meeting to illustrate his point.
“I’m smoking a cigarette, and they bring me a glass of merlot. And we’re sitting there a little while, and here’s the president drinking iced tea and chomping on Nicorette,” Boehner said of Obama’s fear of his wife’s retribution.
“What else do you need to know about the two of us?”
