Democratic National Committee fundraiser Lindy Li suddenly quit the political party after facing intense criticism for questioning Vice President Kamala Harris’s political future — and asking about President Biden’s cognitive fitness.
“This past week has been harrowing for me,” Li recently told Piers Morgan. “All these so-called Democrats, the party of inclusion, the party of diversity, masks off.”
Li drew fire after declaring on Fox News that “Democrats have a stench of loser hanging over them” and criticizing Harris’s potential 2028 presidential ambitions.
“This is not what America wants,” Li said of Harris’ future as the Democratic Party leader “November 5th was a decisive defeat for the Democratic Party.”
The comments triggered what Li described as racist attacks and calls for boycotts, costing her 40,000 followers in four days.
She said critics called her “a whore, the ‘C-word'” and demanded her deportation.
“They’re calling me a spy for the regime that killed my great-grandfather and these are the people who call themselves the social justice warriors,” she told Morgan. “They’re going headfirst into racism anytime someone dares to disagree with them. I want to be a part of the team that says men are men and women are women and men shouldn’t play in women’s sports.”
Li was also attacked after she raised concerns about Biden’s leadership, telling NewsNation a “shadow presidency” was running the country due to the 82-year-old president’s cognitive decline.
Outgoing DNC Chair Jamie Harrison dismissed Li as “narcissism incarnate” and disputed her previous titles.
“On Election Day, she was anchored at the entrance of the Harris election night reception attempting to greet and take selfies with any and all notable Democrats. This is yet another desperate cry for attention,” Harrison wrote.
Li, who raised “tens of millions” of dollars for Democratic candidates over the years, said the party drove her out.
“They’re shrinking their tent. They’re basically pushing me to bring my tens of millions of dollars that I’ve raised and can continue to raise to a different team that treats me better,” Li said.
“All these so-called Democrats, the party of inclusion, the party of diversity, masks off. And it’s even worse because they pretend to occupy the moral high ground,” she said. “They pretend to be so loving and caring and embracing of diversity but all of a sudden, when I dare to utter any criticisms of the goddess Kamala Harris, I get ostracized. Me, after having raised tens of millions of dollars for the party.”
She criticized Harris’s campaign spending and post-election donor calls.
“It was just startling how there was no sense of responsibility. They essentially set $2 billion on fire in 100 days,” Li said, adding she was “stunned” Harris discussed Thanksgiving recipes with donors after her defeat.
“My donors are pissed … it’s my responsibility to ask what the hell happened with their money … these are legitimate questions, but no, in the cult, you can’t ask questions,” she said.
“And leaving the Democratic Party or even questioning the Democratic Party is like leaving a cult. It’s terrifying. I don’t want to be a part of this craziness anymore. They’re accelerating my rightward shift.”
