Trouble former first son Hunter Biden has a new career in mind for himself: Vice President of the United States under President Gavin Newsom.
The former first son appeared on Newsom’s “This Is Gavin Newsom” podcast this week and wasted no time inserting himself into the 2028 political conversation.
When the California governor introduced Hunter as a “presidential candidate,” a joke riffing on President Donald Trump’s recent remarks suggesting Hunter could “do well” in a 2028 Democratic primary, Biden was ready.
“Here’s the deal. I had to give you a break for just one day,” Biden said, and made clear where he sees himself on a hypothetical ticket.
Biden said that “the only scenario where he’d consider joining a future White House ticket” was as Newsom’s running mate.
“They gave me a stage and I’m going to use it,” Biden said about his rising social media popularity.
Biden then defended Graham Platner, the Maine Senate candidate who won the Democratic primary by 50 points despite allegations of sexual misconduct and an old Nazi-linked tattoo.
Biden’s strange defense: Let he who is without a Nazi tattoo cast the first stone?
“Show me your phone,” Biden said in Platner’s defense. “Give me access to your iCloud. Let’s go through it and pull everything that we can that is inappropriate, that is off-color.”
“I think that his relationship with his wife is his relationship with his wife,” Biden continued. “The entirety of that controversy, it’s all about leaked consensual stuff.”
The appearance caps a remarkable two-week stretch for Hunter Biden, who re-emerged on social media in late May and has been posting combative content. He is trolling conservatives and joking about drug addiction, and getting a ton of attention… more than Newsom.
Fox News’ Jesse Watters made that contrast explicit this week.
“Gavin Newsom doesn’t have an ounce of that kind of swagger,” Watters said on “The Five,” calling Hunter’s reemergence a “revenge tour.”
“That is real,” Watters said.
Now, Hunter seems to be really dreaming of his own political career.
