Former first son Hunter Biden revealed in a shocking tell-all interview that his relationship with former President Barack Obama is not as cozy as you would think.
In an excerpt of journalist Jonathan Karl’s forthcoming book, “Retribution: Donald Trump and the Campaign that Changed America,” initially released by Axios yesterday, Hunter Biden says we was furious with Obama for a move he pulled against his dad.
Hunter Biden says he was so enraged watching Obama lead his father off the stage at a Hollywood fundraiser last year that he nearly cursed out the former president.
In the book, Hunter recalled the rage he felt toward Obama, who grabbed Joe by the wrist and tugged him in the direction of the curtains after the then-president completely froze for a full 10 seconds at the star-studded campaign fundraiser.
“I almost jumped up on the stage and said, ‘Don’t ever f**king do that to the president of the United States again — ever,” Hunter told Karl.
“I knew that that was going to be a meme,” Hunter Biden added “That really, really, really, really pissed me off.”
Joe Biden’s strange freeze-up at the event in Los Angeles was yet another of the mental capacity concerns that plagued the White House throughout Biden’s term.
Despite Hunter Biden’s rage towards Obama, the Hollywood event raked in more than $30 million in contributions from leftist donors for the Biden campaign.
However, it also took place about a week-and-a-half before Joe Biden’s disastrous debate with President Donal Trump, which forced Biden to end his re-election bid less than a month later.
Actor and Democratic mega-donor George Clooney was one of several Hollywood big shots at the event, and later recounted in a New York Times op-ed that the president “was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010.”
“He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020,” Clooney said of what the president was like at the fundraiser. “He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”
Hunter Biden’s revelation also comes on the heels of a tell-all interview he did this week on journalist Tommy Christopher’s Substack platform, where he addressed the unprecedented blanket pardon he received from his dad before leaving office.
Hunter said that his father only pardoned him because Trump reclaimed the presidency in November 2024 — and “would not have” done so under “normal circumstances” while the appeals process played out.
“Donald Trump went and changed everything,” Hunter said in the interview released Monday. “And I don’t think that I need to make much of an argument about why it changed everything.”
“I’ve said this before,” Hunter went on. “My dad would not have pardoned me if President Trump had not won, and the reason that he would not have pardoned me is because I was certain that in a normal circumstance of the appeals [I would have won].”
“I realize how privileged I am,” Hunter went on. “I realize how lucky I am; I realize that I got something that almost no one would have gotten.
“But I’m incredibly grateful for it and I have to say that I don’t think that it requires me to make much of a detailed argument for why it was the right thing to do, at least from my dad, from his perspective.”
Hunter Biden pleaded guilty last year to evading $1.4 million in back taxes to the IRS and was also convicted on felony gun charges, crimes which his father pardoned him from. Hunter Biden has never faced consequences for his numerous crimes.
