Hillary Clinton reverses course, wants to join MAGA!? (sort of)

Everyone remembers her “basket of deplorables” comment back in 2016 regarding supporters of President Donald Trump.

But for the second time since August, Hillary Clinton has started to openly defended the moves of the Trump presidency.

Of course in typical Clinton fashion, she does so still managing to take some major digs at Republicans everywhere.

Clinton appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning, and praised President Trump’s hardline shift on Russia and warned that the country’s leader, Vladimir Putin, “only responds to strength.”

Yesterday, Trump suggested for the first time that Ukraine could reclaim “all of Ukraine back in its original form” — a significant reversal from earlier comments about the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Hillary Clinton is on-board totally.

“I welcomed what the president said yesterday,” Clinton said. “I thought that given all the back-and-forth that we have seen and heard at Anchorage and elsewhere, his coming to grips with the fact that Vladimir Putin does not respond to any kind of rhetoric, he only responds to strength.”

“You have to show strength. You have to back strength. You have to be strong in order to deal with him,” she added. “And I think if what President Trump said yesterday is if we help Ukraine, Ukraine can hold the line and may even be able to push Russia back.”

Last month, Clinton told the “Raging Moderates” podcast that she would willingly nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he could bring an end to the war in Ukraine without allowing President Vladimir Putin to take territory from its neighbor.

If Donald Trump negotiates an end to Putin's war on Ukraine without Ukraine having to cede territory, I'll nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize myself. https://t.co/SYXKhhLqkS

“Honestly, if he could bring about the end to this terrible war, if he could end it without putting Ukraine in a position where it didn’t concede its territory to the aggressor, could really stand up to Putin — something we haven’t seen, but maybe this is the opportunity — if President Trump were the architect of that, I’d nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize,” Clinton told podcast interviewer Jessica Tarlov.

“Because my goal here is to not allow capitulation to Putin,” she added.

However, Clinton’s “praise” directed towards Trump was predictably short-lived.

During her MSNBC segment, Clinton attacked Republicans after calling on everyone to “stop demonizing” one another for their political differences.

Clinton told the panelists that while Americans need to “stop demonizing each other,” most of the demonization is coming from the political right. She then accused Republicans of wanting to erase slavery from U.S. history and of only wanting to hear their own point of view.

“We have to got to stop demonizing each other,” Clinton said. “Now, I think most of that right now in our country’s history is coming from the right, from people who want to dominate, they want their point of view. You know, writing out slavery from history? That doesn’t make it go away. You know, we’ve got to stop with the finger-pointing and the scapegoating. We can have legitimate disagreements, right? I mean, how do you provide affordable healthcare for everybody? Let’s figure that out. How do you deal with what’s gonna be job loss from AI? Let’s get working on that. That’s what we should be doing, but we should do it in the truth-based reality that we have to live in. Facts and evidence have to matter again.”

Take a listen. It’s classic Hillary.
