Former State Secretary Hillary Clinton has tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 virus, she tweeted on Tuesday.
Clinton, 74, reports only “mild cold symptoms,” and she has thanked the vaccines developed under former President Donald Trump.
“Well, I’ve tested positive for COVID. I’ve got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine,” she tweeted. “I’m more grateful than ever for the protection vaccines can provide against serious illness.”
Last year, Clinton appeared in a public service announcement to encourage vaccination, along with other former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Rosalynn Carter, and Laura Bush.
Melania Trump also received the vaccine during her husband’s presidency, a Trump White House staffer told the Associated Press that year.
Clinton later issued an update about the health of her husband. She added, “Bill tested negative and is feeling fine. He’s quarantining until our household is fully in the clear.”
Former President Bill Clinton, 75, has seen his health decline after leaving office. He has suffered a collapsed lung, implanted two coronary stents into his heart, undergone treatment for sepsis, and embraced alternative medicine.
One has to wonder whether the former president is avoiding the household for his own health or whether he’s sleeping at a motel for the fun.
While self-isolating, the former state secretary asked Twitter for movie recommendations. She received a reply from President Joe Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki, also in isolation after testing positive on Wednesday.
“Finally watching Inventing Anna (and recommend!)” Psaki tweeted. “And highly recommend lots of water, tea and juice.”

Critics took the opportunity to recommend some… interesting movie ideas to her.
New York City Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli mentioned 13 Hours, an action-thriller about the Benghazi attack from Clinton’s time as secretary of state. Another user tweeted a poster for the movie Kill Bill.
Comedian Tim Dillon suggested Primary Colors, a 1998 comedy-drama about a Southern governor’s quest to win the Democratic nomination despite rumors of his womanizing.
Another user suggested House of Cards, a series about a ruthless Southern lawmaker and his ambitious wife’s climb to power.
Stop us if that all sounds familiar.
