President Donald Trump and the federal government are ramping up efforts to aid the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma — but help is coming from outside Washington, D.C. as well.
Across the country, Christian organizations, churches, and charitable disaster relief funds are rushing to the aid of those in need.
In Texas and Florida, lives will be saved — and prayers answered — by these selfless organizations.
Speaking to the media Thursday after passing a bipartisan bill authorizing billions in federal funds for Hurricane Harvey relief, Trump said: “The people of the United States want to see a coming together, at least to an extent with different parties. We have different thoughts, different feelings, and different ideas. But I think you’re going to see a much stronger coming together.”
Friday morning, Trump urged Florida residents to prepare as best they could.
Hurricane Irma is of epic proportion, perhaps bigger than we have ever seen. Be safe and get out of its way,if possible. Federal G is ready!

He also joined former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama and asked America unite behind the rescue and relief efforts.
We will confront ANY challenge, no matter how strong the winds or high the water. I’m proud to stand with Presidents for #OneAmericaAppeal.
