Ohio Republican Rep. Max Miller is facing stunning allegations of years of physical abuse against his ex-wife.
Miller responded forcefully, denying the allegations and tearing into The Daily Mail reporter that wrote about them.
Emily Moreno, 32, the daughter of Ohio Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno, said she has proof of abuse at Miller’s hands in a series of photos stretching back to 2024. The photos, obtained by The Daily Mail, appear to show bruises across her arms, elbow, and torso, and burns on her chest.
The allegations surfaced in court filings as the estranged couple battles over custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
The most recent incident allegedly occurred February 1 at Miller’s Ohio home, during a custody exchange. Moreno claims Miller, 37, grabbed and struck her in front of their daughter, leaving black, blue, and red marks across her body.
If true, the allegations about a June 2024 incident are even more disturbing.
Miller is accused of throwing a pot of boiling water at Moreno during an argument, The Daily Mail reported, while their infant daughter was in the room. Moreno claims she has photos from that same day that show redness across her upper chest.
Miller filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary in August 2024, two months after Moreno alleged he threw boiling water on her.
The couple had married at Trump’s Bedminster golf club in 2022, with the president in attendance. They reached a divorce settlement in June 2025 that includes joint custody and $2,500 monthly child support.
Moreno’s attorney Andrew Zashin didn’t mince words.
“The photographic evidence speaks for itself. These images, combined with the documented history in court filings, directly contradict years of Mr. Miller’s denial,” Zashin said. “Any claim that Ms. Moreno fabricated these allegations collapses in the face of contemporaneous physical evidence.”
Miller denied everything, and went on offense against the media.
