In Washington, D.C. the political woes continued for Biden. James Biden, his younger brother, will testify before the Republican-led House Oversight Committee next month as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry.
The committee announced James Biden will appear on February 21st after months of negotiations over the terms. This comes shortly before the president’s son Hunter is also scheduled to be deposed.
The investigation has focused on potential financial conflicts of interest related to the Biden family’s international business dealings while the “Big Guy” was in office.
Democrats claim there is no direct evidence implicating President Biden engaged in illegal activities while in office, despite the investigation continuing to paint what Republicans call a “troubling picture.”
James Biden’s lawyer contends there was no reason for his subpoena, as prior reviews of records between the two Bidens had no direct proof of any crimes.
Yet the Republican committee maintains it has gathered evidence of concerning influence peddling with international clients. It has recently questioned several past Biden family associates under oath, and the investigation remains active.
