Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report was a total dud for Democrats, so they’ve concocted a new taking point to keep their Trump-Russia collusion theories alive.
Of course, Democrats can’t point to any specific crimes that President Donald Trump committed — so they are trying to put a plan in place now to “get” the president later.
Democrats want to pass a new radical law that would allow them to charge Trump with crimes when he leaves the White House.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler and his allies are trying to pass legislation to pause the statute of limitations while a president is in office.
The “No President Is Above the Law Act” is aimed directly at Trump. It’s intended to give Democrats power to potentially charge Trump when he no longer has control of the executive branch.
Trump is shielded from facing criminal charges by a long-standing Justice Department policy, which states that a sitting president can’t be charged with a crime, Democrats need a “Plan B.”
Democrats have no legal ground to stand on — so they want to change the rules to make sure they win.
“One effect of the policy is that a president who avoids prosecution while in office could escape prosecution altogether because the statute of limitations would have run out by the time the president is out of office. Most federal criminal offenses carry a five-year statute of limitations,” The Sun-Sentinel reported.

“Under the legislation sponsored by Deutch, who represents Broward and Palm Beach counties; Jerry Nadler, the committee chairman from New York; and Eric Swalwell, a committee member from California, the statute of limitations would be paused for any federal offense committed by a sitting president — regardless of whether it was committed before or during the president’s term of office,” the outlet continued.
Looking beyond Democrats’ desperation, the Mueller report clearly states that there’s insufficient evidence to conclude whether Trump obstructed justice.
Attorney General William Barr has also stated countless times that Mueller found zero evidence that Trump, his campaign, or any American colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
That has not stopped Democrats from ratcheting up delusional and insane plots to “get back” at the president for winning the election two years ago.

But they can’t — so they need to change the laws to fit their delusion.
It’s time for Democrats to simply accept that Trump is the duly elected president — and that’s not a crime.
