Fox News star Tomi Lahren had something to say about Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and his opulent travel spending in a blistering rant Tuesday morning.
Swalwell spent tens of thousands of campaign dollars on campaign trips to Miami, Florida and Paris, France. Lahren said the spending is proof that Democratic Party leaders are all completely “out of touch” with the average American.
And it’s time to hold lawmakers accountable, she said.
“When you have people like Swalwell, AOC, and others who are in such deep blue districts they know they can get away with it,” Lahren said. “Because they know they’re not going to be challenged. Their constitutes are going to vote for them anyway.”
Lahren said it was one of the dangers of gerrymandering — getting districts so “deep blue” that Democratic leaders can get away with anything.
“It’s up to the voters to make that decision,” she pointed out.
“I will say this, though: It’s very interesting [Swalwell] is spending money in Miami, Florida of all places,” Lahren said. “Because we know how Democrats feel about Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state of Florida. Yet they keep going there!”
“Again, it’s up to the people of California to make a change here,” she continued. “When you’ve got these … congressional leaders that are supposed to work for you, for the people of California, and for the American people, and they’re spending that kind of money while the rest of us are living under the pinch of the Biden economy?”
“It just goes to show how out-of-touch they really are,” Lahren said. “If you want to make a change, you’re going to have to stop voting deep blue and start holding your leaders accountable.”
“There are Republicans doing much the same thing,” she followed up. “So we need to hold them accountable as well. Equal opportunity as far as accountability here.”
