Fox News star Rosanna Scotto from New York’s local Fox 5 station was knocked out of her shoes after a dangerous fall during a live fitness segment on Good Day New York. She fell forward, her shoes flying off as she landed flat on the ground in front of viewers.
The 67-year-old morning show host was attempting pull-ups with celebrity personal trainer Kenny Santucci on Friday when the exercise went wrong.
Scotto was a good sport about the spill, even after she expressed concerns before the accident.
Scotto initially couldn’t reach the pull-up bar. “How am I going to reach this?” she asked as Santucci laughed.
“I’ll give you a little boost,” the personal trainer said. He asked if she was alright before lifting her, and she gave an emphatic no.
Still, Santucci hoisted her up to reach the bars and told her to cross her ankles. He held her legs while encouraging her through four pull-ups.
“There we go! Another one! Another! Give me two more! Last one!” Santucci yelled during the segment.
Suddenly Scotto catapulted forward, face-planted on the ground, and her shoes flew off.
Santucci and cohost Curt Menefee both let out a simultaneous “oh!” and rushed to help her up.
“You ok?” Menefee asked.
Scotto smiled and laughed, assuring both men she was fine. She brushed the hair out of her face.
“Kenny, what kind of insurance do you have?” Menefee cracked.
“Uh, not very good,” Santucci joked back.
“Kenny! Why didn’t you tell me!” Scotto said.
Santucci picked up her discarded heels and helped her step back into them. “She fell right out of her shoes!” he said.

The clip quickly spread across social media. Many viewers praised Scotto for handling the fall professionally, but most criticized Santucci for his role in the accident.
“Rosanna Scotto: the definition of the show must go on. I hope she is okay, that was face first,” one X user wrote.
“Shame on that trainer for laughing, especially since he had her cross her ankles while holding onto them, causing the fall. What a moron,” one person wrote.
“Crosses her ankles and drops her like that. Fool,” another added.
Scotto returned unharmed to the airwaves Monday to host Republican nominee for New York City mayor Curtis Sliwa and Democrat Zorhan Mamdani.
Scotto has been an anchor on the Fox News affiliate for 30 years and joined the network in 1986 as a weekend anchor and reporter. She was named host of Good Day New York in 2008.
It’s not the first accident she’s had on-air. In October 2014, Scotto broke her wrist and elbow during a skating segment at Rockefeller Center’s ice rink. She needed surgery but returned to the air days later.
“Rosanna took a bad fall, she broke her wrist and fractured her elbow and will need surgery,” cohost Greg Kelly said at the time. “But she is a trouper and making jokes about it a minute later.”
In 2021, a horse nearly urinated on Scotto during an interview with author Manda Kalimian. The horse, named Pila, relieved himself near the anchor as she closed out the segment.
“It was darn funny. It could’ve been a catastrophe… I was closing out the segment when all of a sudden I heard a bucket of water falling to the ground. It was Pila relieving himself,” Scotto said.
“Luckily, I ran so fast. I had beige stilettos on – and fortunately, they were saved by my quick actions. Just a little splash on my leg! Only on ‘Good Day New York’ would this happen.”
