Substituting for Fox News star Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, former U.S. Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii invited Rep.-elect George Santos, R-N.Y., to answer questions about his controversial string of campaign lies.
Santos claimed to have graduated from a college he didn’t attend, and said he worked for financial giants but never did. He’s admitted to his lies… but Gabbard did not hold back on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
She demanded Santos talk about what integrity meant — and wouldn’t let him off the hook.
“What does it mean, though?” Gabbard asked. “What does it mean? Because the meaning of the word actually matters in practice.”
“It means to carry yourself in an honorable way,” he answered. “And I made a mistake.”
“I think humans are flawed, and we all make mistakes, Tulsi,” Santos said. “I think we can all look at ourselves in the mirror and admit that once in our life we made a mistake.”
“I’m having to admit this on national television for the whole country to see,” he said. “And I have the courage to do so because I believe that in order to move past this and move forward and be an effective member of Congress, I have to face my mistakes, and I’m facing them.”
Gabbard was unswayed, and asked, “if I were one of those in New York’s third district right now, now that the election is over and I’m finding out all of these lies that you’ve told… my question is, do you have no shame?”

“Do you have no shame in the people who you’re asking to trust you to go and be their voice for them, their families and their kids in Washington?” she grilled Santos.

On social media, critics cheered Gabbard’s tough questions.
“George Santos is such a filthy liar he almost makes Kevin McCarthy look honest,” one user wrote.
“I’m glad she held him to the fire,” another said.
“I honestly couldn’t watch the whole interview and only made it to 2:22. This is the type of person who really give conservatives a bad name,” said a third. ” He should resign immediately.”
