Investigators are trying to get to the bottom of the illegal surveillance of President Donald Trump’s campaign and the leaking of classified information to the media — and the CIA is trying to stop them.
Lawmakers told Fox News that their search for justice is being sabotaged by none other than our own intelligence communities.
The goal of the probe is to identify the traitors that released protected information to the media… but the House and Senate Intelligence Committees told Fox that they can’t get any information from the CIA or National Security Agency.
“Our requests are simply not being answered. The agencies are not really helping at all and there is truly a massive web for us to try and wade through,” said one House Intelligence committee source.
A Senate source claimed, “Any information that will help find the wide extent on the unmasking and surveillance is purposely not being provided.”
While President Barack Obama’s former National Security Adviser Susan Rice has been accused of being one of the individuals behind the unmasking, cooperation from intelligence agencies is vital to ensure every last fact about the alleged wiretapping is uncovered.
But why would the intelligence agencies — that are supposed to be working with Trump — stonewall his orders?
Critics say because they have something to hide.
The FBI and the NSA are run by James Comey and Mike Rogers, both leftovers from Obama’s administration, and their alleged meddlikng is further proof that the swamp needs to be drained.
While the House and Senate suspect stonewalling, the FBI, CIA and NSA bosses all deny any wrongdoing.
An FBI spokesperson told Fox, “The FBI will continue to work with the congressional oversight committees on their requests.”
The CIA deflected and said the NSA was the agency leading the probe, and all questions should be referred to them.
The NSA said in a statement:
“Allegations that the National Security Agency is “withholding information” from congressional intelligence committees investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election are categorically untrue. NSA fully supports the committees’ work. We have already made available significant information in response to their requests, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the execution of their important responsibilities.”
A conveniently and politically correct statement, giving the appearance of cooperation… but insider reports imply otherwise.
Fox News reported one source from the NSA said, “A number of people saw a lot of very questionable stuff. [The Obama administration] was using national assets and intelligence for politics.”
Who said draining the swamp would be easy?
