Fox News published a poll this week and claimed President Donald Trump’s approval among Republicans has cratered to all-time low.
Do you believe it? Take our opinion poll below and share your thoughts.
The Fox News survey, conducted May 15-18 among 1,002 registered voters, puts Trump’s overall job approval at 39% among Americans. The survey said 61% disapprove of Trump’s job.
Republican support for the White House in the Fox News poll was only at 80%, which Fox and several media outlets said is a record low for Trump within his own party.
MAGA Republicans, the core of Trump’s coalition, reportedly approve of him at a much higher on overall job performance. Fox News says it is non-MAGA Republicans, at 54% approval, who are dragging support down.
“Despite consistently strong GOP support, the president’s numbers are leaking a bit,” Fox News Republican pollster Daron Shaw said. “Make no mistake; it’s all about affordability. Independents jumped ship in 2025, and now non-MAGA Republicans and other core constituencies are wavering.”
Trump doesn’t buy any of it.
“I have some of the best poll numbers I’ve ever had,” he told reporters last week.
Trump’s own endorsements just crushed, and every single candidate he backed across six states on primary night last Tuesday won.
But the Iran war is the wild card. History says wars that end favorably produce approval rallies.
Wars that don’t, don’t.
