Jeanine, oh Jeanine, where art thou?
Fox News host Jeanine Pirro went missing from her usual Saturday night slot and it’s caused speculation on what exactly happened between Pirro and Fox executives. The network made no statement on the absence of the programming. In its place aired a series of documentaries.
The “Judge Jeanine” star hasn’t tweeted since March 10th. And many pundits are beginning to wonder whether Pirro’s pulling is a one-time occurrence, or whether she’s off the air altogether.
Pirro’s comments last week set the alleged rift in motion; she made a statement on Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-M.N., questioning whether her hijab head scarf was contrarian to the U.S. Constitution.
“Think about it. [Rep. Ilhan] Omar wears a hijab,” Pirro said during last week’s show. “Which, according to the Quran 33:59, tells women to cover so they won’t get molested. Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?”
Afterward, Fox News was immediate in censuring Pirro for the comments. It reads:
“We strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro’s comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar. They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly.”
Pirro’s official statement clarified her remarks:
“I’ve seen a lot of comments about my opening statement from Saturday night’s show and I did not call Rep. Omar un-American. My intention was to ask a question and start a debate, but of course because one is Muslim does not mean you don’t support the Constitution. I invite Rep. Omar to come on my show any time to discuss all of the important issues facing America today.”
From the very beginning, the incident stemmed from Omar’s anti-Semitic comments. And while neither are justifiable, but there was one vast difference between the way the Democrats and Republicans handled incendiary words.
After complaints from the Jewish community and beyond about anti-Semitic rhetoric, mostly on Omar, the radical lefties have refused to apologize for anything.
President Donald Trump weighed in on Twitter, giving a vote of confidence to Pirro ahead of next Saturday night.
“Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well.”
