Tensions have been simmering for a while between President Trump and Fox News.
Trump has been annoyed with Fox News’ coverage of his potential Democratic rivals, and speculation about how Trump matches up in the polls.
And Trump has a point. The 2016 presidential elections proved that polling is badly flawed, especially as it relates to Trump.
So it was a matter of time before Trump and Fox finally squared off and aired their grievances.
And when Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade interviewed Trump on his radio show yesterday, sparks flew.
Trump didn’t beat around the bush, telling Kilmeade that he was “not happy with Fox.”
Trump had previously slammed Fox on Twitter and declared that he and his followers may need to find a new network.
In his typical, biting fashion, Trump even rated Kilmeade’s Fox & Friends show as only a 6 or 7 out of 10.
But Kilmeade pushed back, suggesting Trump was being far too sensitive.
“If somebody comes on and they’re critical of one thing about you… it never used to bother you like this,” Kilmeade said. “Now yesterday I read those tweets … I thought to myself what’s bothering you about it, because our channel prides itself in diversity and getting everybody in so you don’t have to flip around.”
But both Trump and Kilmeade agreed on one thing — CNN and MSNBC treat Trump far worse.
Trump said CNN and MSNBC compete to see who can attack him more. And Trump has even refused a proposed interview with CNN because he thought it would be disloyal to the followers.
And, on that, Trump and Kilmeade found common ground.
“I don’t think you should do an interview there either,” Kilmeade said sarcastically.
