One of former President Bill Clinton’s senior aides during his time in the White House was found dead at the age of 59, The Daily Mail reported.
Mark Middleton, who served in the White House from 1992 to 1996, died of unspecified causes in Arkansas on Saturday.
Local law enforcement and the county corner are reportedly not investigating the cause of death as unusual.
Middleton was a successful businessman from Little Rock, Arkansas, and he joined Clinton’s presidential campaign in the 1990s as a financial director. He ran a successful air conditioning business and was a partner at MidCorp Capital, an investing firm. Middleton also reportedly worked at a number of nonprofits throughout his life.
His unexpected death was announced on Middleton Heat & Air page on Facebook, his family’s air conditioning business. The post was later deleted.
“The Middleton family has lost an inspiring and dedicated leader, as well as a son, brother, husband and father. Mark leaves behind a company that he helped build from the ground up alongside his family and was proud to run for the last 25 years,” the family’s statement read, according to The Saline Courier, a local newspaper.
“Mark also built a trusted, experienced and tenured team that we are confident in to lead during this difficult time. We know Mark would be grateful for their leadership and the continued commitment of each member of the Middleton team to provide the quality of service you have enjoyed for 45 years.
“No words can express our sadness over this loss or our gratitude for your support and prayers during this time.”
