With Eric Swalwell out of Congress amid a sexual misconduct scandal, a viral video is making the rounds — the disgraced former congressman in near-hysterics over Donald Trump’s social media memes.
The clip, reshared this week by Libs of TikTok, shows Swalwell on the House Judiciary Committee floor in September 2024, angered over an AI-generated image posted by the House Judiciary GOP account showing Trump embracing a duck and a kitten with the caption “Protect our ducks and kittens in Ohio!”
The meme was a response to viral reports about Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, eating ducks and cats during the election campaign between then-President Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Swalwell went after Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.
“What in the hell is this?” Swalwell demanded. “The chairman tweets ‘Protect our ducks and kittens in Ohio!’ because he goes down some crazy rabbit hole, completely debunked that aliens are eating pets? My God! Are you okay Mr. Chairman?”
“I don’t know why you would do this. I hope you are okay. I don’t know if the aliens who are eating your ducks are in the room with us right now, but Mr. Chairman this is a serious issue.”
Swalwell just resigned in disgrace from Congress after multiple women accused him of sexual assault, rape, and misconduct, a Manhattan DA criminal investigation was opened against him, an alleged video inside a hotel room video with an alleged sex worker surfaced, and his own former staffers signed a public letter calling him unfit to serve.
Swalwell resigned his seat on Monday, one day after ending his campaign for California governor. He had been the Democratic frontrunner in the race just one week earlier.
