First Lady Melania Trump announced this week the reopening of the White House to the public for tours.
In a White House press release, Melania Trump revealed that The White House, will “officially open for public tours on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.”
“The President and I are excited to reopen the White House to those interested in the extraordinary story of this iconic and beautiful landmark,” Melania said. “There is much to learn about the American Presidency, the First Families who have lived here, and our Nation’s rich history from a firsthand experience at the White House.”
“This opportunity is unique among nations around the globe—a tradition we are honored to continue for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come each year,” she added.

The tours, which last about 45 minutes, are self-guided “and will generally be available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday as well as 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday through Saturday (excluding Federal holidays or unless otherwise noted),” the release added.
Tours are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis and are offered free of charge.
According to the White House website, the tours will typically include the “public rooms in the East Wing and the Residence, which include the Vermeil Room, the Library, the China Room, the Blue Room, Red Room, Green Room, the State Dining Room, and a view of the White House Kennedy Garden.”
“Secret Service Officers are stationed along the tour route and are available to answer questions about each room’s history, art, furnishings, current uses, and beyond,” a message on the website added.
