Car enthusiasts — and comic book enthusiasts — get ready.
Because you can own the famous “Batmobile” car used in the recent installments of “Batman” movies for a cool price of only $3 million.
According to car collector publication, Hemmings, Warner Bros. Discovery is allowing fans the opportunity to own a military-inspired Batmobile, made famous by the first film in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy, “Batman Begins,” according to Hemmings.
10 cars will be available for purchase for those who can afford the hefty price-tag.
But if you are lucky enough to fetch one of these, don’t count on taking out for a spin in your area.
According to Hemmings, these Batmobiles will not be street-legal.
The cars are powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 engine that packs a whopping 525 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. General Motors gets the nod for creating a 4L85-E transmission that allows for some manual control by way of the car’s paddle shifters.
But, just like the “Batman” movies, the driving experience for each car is enhanced with a addition of an imitation of a jet turbine powerplant and a smoke-screen production system, as well as mock gun turrets, according to Hemmings.
The interior detailing is said to mimic the movie-version of the car, with two seats that are equipped with five-point racing harnesses and a completely customizable interior.
The cars up for sale were constructed on a steel tube space frame, as well as sheet metal fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar. The beasts weigh in at 5,511 pounds when completed, according to Hemmings.
