Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are planning an anti-Trump TV show for Netflix.
The Obamas bought the rights to the book, “The Fifth Risk” by Michael Lewis, which portrays President Donald Trump as evil and incompetent.
Lewis’ book is based on interviews with political appointees under Obama who criticize Trump before he was sworn in as president, during the transition of power.
In a recent interview, Lewis revealed his purpose for writing was to paint Trump as “the single worst business manager that’s ever occupied the office.”
Netflix has announced they are partnering with the Obamas, paying them to produce “exclusive content” to indoctrinate its 118 million subscribers.
President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement to produce films and series for Netflix, potentially including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features.

After his party famously lost the 2016 election, Obama said his production company, Higher Ground, would not go political. Fast forward two years, and yet again, the former president is failing to keep another promise.
Rather than steering clear of criticizing his successor — as most former presidents do out of respect for the office — Obama is leading liberals in attacking the nation’s Commander in Chief.
While midterm election campaigning, he ridiculously claimed that the current booming Trump economy was his doing.
Now, with the help of Netflix, he is taking his anti-Trump propaganda to everyone’s TV sets.
As the Gateway Pundit put it, the Obama’s new Netflix show will portray “Obama as a hero and the incoming Trump administration as bumbling rookies.”
Lewis’ book argues that Trump didn’t appoint cabinet positions at the Departments of Energy, Commerce, and Agriculture quickly enough — and some he appointed didn’t meet often enough with outgoing appointees.
The president-elect had over 1,200 national leadership positions to fill after his electoral mandate to “drain the swamp” of establishment politicians and bureaucrats.
Lewis decries the wait – even months after the inauguration — for someone to prep the 2020 census and lead FEMA or the Transportation Security Administration. Never mind that the political establishment blocked Trump at every turn and begrudgingly confirmed Trump’s appointments at the slowest rate in history.
The Wall Street Journal summarized Lewis’ book as simply, “Civil servants from the Obama era worry about the fate of their agencies now.”
A scathing review of Lewis’ foundational research by The Daily Caller found that the author “relied on disgruntled Obama officials to paint an inaccurate picture.”
Lewis interviewed voted out Obama appointees still reeling from the Trump juggernaut of 2016. Meanwhile, actual Trump transition officials say Lewis’ supposedly “non-fiction” book is a work of liberal fantasy.
Trump transition head for the Department of Energy Tom Pyle cried foul. “So many inaccuracies,” he charged. “A completely inaccurate picture of what the transition did.”
“It was disgruntled Obama political appointees who still have not come to terms with the outcome of the election,” Pyle, who now heads up the free market Institute for Energy Research, noted.
The Daily Caller listed several false claims by Lewis.
One of the many “fake news” fabrications was Lewis’ assertion that the DOE “green energy” loan program “turned a profit” under Obama. In fact, a Government Accountability Office audit proved the program was bleeding taxpayers to the tune of $2.2 billion.
Undaunted by facts, Lewis defends Big Brother. One reviewer called the book, “a slobbering love letter to bureaucrats and big government.” Lewis himself even admits he believes “the government is the mission of the entire society.”
No wonder liberals are chomping at the bit to watch the Obama’s Netflix show.
But Lewis hasn’t got a clue as to why America elected Trump in the first place. He pays no mind to the real concerns of conservative voters — such as governmental overreach, or the sheer size, debt, and cost of the federal monstrosity in Washington.
At times, Lewis’ openly liberal bias becomes petty, calling Trump appointees “old,” “fake,” and discounting them on the basis of their income. He ridicules the administration for taking out government website links to climate change hype.
But the book — and presumably the Obamas’ TV series — becomes too unreachable when it fearmongers World War Three.
Lewis quotes Energy official John MacWilliams whining that if his department doesn’t get more from the Trump administration there could be a nuclear bomb accident.
As if in lockstep, the mainstream media promoted the book with headlines like, “The Scariest Nuclear Threat May Be Coming from Inside the White House.”
Other dire warnings in the book include that if the Department of Agriculture were to have its budget cut, “critical” programs such as welfare could be affected.
The Baffler’s Aaron Timms calls Lewis a “Resistocrat” – a member of the elite seeking to overthrow Trump at all costs.
Timms observes that it’s exactly the big government Lewis praises that has “put elites out of touch with the people, crashed the economy, and created a political climate conducive to Trump.”
While promoting their new partnership, Netflix and the Obamas traded accolades. Michelle praised the streamer’s “unparalleled service,” while Netflix called Obama and Michelle two of “the world’s most respected and highly recognized public figures” whom the media giant is “incredibly proud” to cater to.
