Expert: 2 huge Supreme Court openings in 2019

President Donald Trump will have two more Supreme Court nominees to select, possibly as soon as next year.

That’s according to the executive vice president of the Federalist Society and legal expert Leonard Leo, who told Fox News Sunday that Trump will have a lasting impact on the high court.

“Leo predicts that President Trump will have at least two more opportunities to appoint originalists to the U.S. Supreme Court, which could define his presidency as a lasting legacy for the nation,” Breitbart reported Monday.

Leo works closely with White House Counsel Don McGahn and assists in filing judicial vacancies across the country. Currently, the president has an mouthwatering 170 judicial vacancies that need to be filled. By putting strong conservative judges in these positions, Trump will make more of a positive impact on America’s future than all the mainstream media meltdowns combined.

And there’s no bigger impact than in the Supreme Court.

Asked to address the rumors that he was Trump’s inside advisor for potential Supreme Court nominations, Leo joked, “Supreme Court whisperer? I don’t remember ever whispering, and I know he’s never whispered.”

As the executive vice president of the Federalist Society, though, Leo is certainly in a position to know what is happening in the Trump White House. The organization has sought to restore an originalist interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.

In other words, “The idea that the words of the Constitution should be interpreted as they were commonly understood when they were written,” Fox News host Chris Wallace explained.

Leo explained to Wallace that the “odds are high” that in the next few years “you’re going to see a couple more vacancies” for the Supreme Court. He put the odds at over 50 percent that Trump would have two more openings to fill.

“If President Trump gets to nominate another justice, that will move a Court that is often split over to solidly conservative,” Wallace explained.

Two more, and the Supreme Court would be solidly conservative for decades to come.

Do you want a more conservative Supreme Court?
