Democrats are quickly losing more and more control in Washington. So when conservative rocker Kid Rock announced his plan to run for Senate, top Democrats quickly began to panic.
He announced his plan to run for U.S. Senate in Michigan next year, and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer immediately spoke out.

Worried that liberals would underestimate Kid Rock, Warren cited the lack of Democrats who thought President Donald Trump had a chance as reason why she’s taking Kid Rock seriously.
“There were a lot of people who weren’t concerned about Donald Trump running for the presidency,” she said at Cape Cod Community College, according to the Boston Herald. “I think there were more people making jokes than people who took it seriously. So, I take it all seriously right now.”
But she didn’t stop at that comment.

Warren is clearly concerned about the musician stealing what’s left of her party’s Senate seats, writing a fundraising email with the subject line “Senator Kid Rock (R-MI).”
Her email was a clear rallying cry, warning supporters to donate to the campaign of Kid Rock’s would-be opponent, Michigan Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow.
Senator Chuck Schumer joined her call for donations, sending an email in which he shared his lack of humor in the situation with supporters.

“So, I’ll be honest, we don’t know if this is real, a joke, or a bizarre publicity stunt. But I’ll tell you this: I don’t find it funny.”
“In the Trump era, we can’t afford to take this tweet as a joke. At a time when Senate Republicans are desperate to grow their ranks while pushing to rip health care from millions of Americans, we cannot afford to think of this as a publicity stunt.”

Both Warren and Schumer’s emails provided links to Democratic fundraising pages.
Kid Rock tweeted his announcement to run last Wednesday:
I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… https://t.co/RRVgISDFeq The answer is an absolute YES. pic.twitter.com/uYCUg6mjW1

He followed up on his Twitter page Monday, suggesting platforms he would push should he make it to Capitol Hill.

Kid Rock called out the mainstream media on his website, for falsely reporting that he cannot legally run.
Liberal media claimed his Warner Bros. contract and lack of filings with the Federal Election Commission are both reasons he would be stopped from running for Senate.

But in an announcement on kidrock.com, he wrote, “Once again the press is wrong. First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!”
Only time will tell if this rock star will follow Trump’s footsteps from celebrity to politician. But one thing is for sure – Democrats are horrified.
