After a busy first two weeks in office, President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address in his second term has been scheduled for March 4.
House Speaker Mike Johnson invited Trump to share his “America First vision” while addressing a joint session of Congress in early March.
“America’s Golden Age has begun,” Johnson (R-La.) wrote in a letter to Trump.
“Thanks to your strong leadership and bold action in the first days of your presidency, the United States is already experiencing a resurgence of patriotism, unity, and hope for the future.”
“Your administration and the 119th Congress working together have the chance to make these next four years some of the most consequential in our nation’s history,” he noted.
“It is my distinct honor and great privilege to invite you to address a Joint Session of Congress … to share your America First vision for our legislative future.”
Trump has yet to formally accept the invitation.
