Former President Donald Trump is done with Fox News — and he’s urging his supporters to cut ties with the network, too, after a revelation from Fox Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch.
Murdoch said under oath some Fox News commentators endorsed false allegations that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and that he didn’t step in to stop them from promoting the claims, according to excerpts of a deposition unsealed Monday.
The claims and the company’s handling of them are at the heart of a defamation lawsuit against the cable news giant by Dominion Voting Systems.
Murdoch also said Fox News star Sean Hannity was “disgusted” by Trump and his claims, and said anchor Tucker Carlson said Trump’s lawyer Sydney Powell “was lying” about her evidence.
The Dominion case also revealed that Murdoch, weeks before the election, insisted that Lou Dobbs be fired because he was “an extremist,” according to Dominion’s court filing. Murdoch also said he thought it was “really bad” for former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to be advising Trump because Giuliani’s “judgment was bad” and he was “an extreme partisan,” according to a deposition excerpt.
Trump wasn’t happy, and fired back on his TruthSocial app on Tuesday.
Why is Rupert Murdoch throwing his anchors under the table, which also happens to be killing his case and infuriating his viewers, who will again be leaving in droves – they already are. There is MASSIVE evidence of voter fraud & irregularities in the 2020 Presidential Election. Just look at the documentary “2000 MULES” and you will see large scale ballot stuffing caught on government cameras, or votes cast without Legislatures approval, or just recently, the FBI/Twitter Files Scandal. RIGGED!!!
He followed it up with another post —
There was so much Voter Fraud & Irregularities in the 2020 Presidential Election that it amazes me how weak and ineffective FoxNews is at portraying itself in the lawsuit against them. They look too scared and frightened to reveal the massive amounts of voter fraud & Irregularities already found, and it would actually help them in the lawsuit. Instead FoxNews wants to silence its anchors and reporters, the reason so many of their viewers fled. The Election was that of a Third World Country!
Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems, which sells electronic voting hardware and software, is suing both Fox News Network and parent company Fox Corp. for defamation. Supporters of Trump claimed that Dominion machines had changed votes in the 2020 election. Dominion claimed Fox provided a platform for guests to make false and defamatory statements about the company, and is seeking over a billion dollars in damages.
Fox News put out the following statement on the lawsuit —
Dominion’s lawsuit has always been more about what will generate headlines than what can withstand legal and factual scrutiny, as illustrated by them now being forced to slash their fanciful damages demand by more than half a billion dollars after their own expert debunked its implausible claims. Their summary judgment motion took an extreme, unsupported view of defamation law that would prevent journalists from basic reporting and their efforts to publicly smear FOX for covering and commenting on allegations by a sitting President of the United States should be recognized for what it is: a blatant violation of the First Amendment.
