It’s been a little more than a week since Donald Trump secured his second term as President of the United States, and he’s been busy filling his administration with close political allies like Susie Wiles (chief of staff), Tom Homan (“border czar”), Krisi Noem (Homeland Security secretary), and Marco Rubio (secretary of state).
But Trump could shock everyone by rounding out his cabinet with a member of his hated rival — CNN.
A move, that surprisingly, conservatives are hoping happens.
A staggering number of conservatives have flooded social media begging Trump to fill his potential White House Press Secretary role with none other than…
CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings.
Trump recently selected Fox News host Pete Hegseth (who served in the armed forces) to serve as his secretary of defense. So selecting someone from the “media” isn’t really a surprise.
The surprise is that Trump would toy with bringing on someone from CNN to potentially round out his cabinet.
But Jennings is not your typical CNN “lifer.”
Jennings, a former campaign staffer for President George W. Bush and perhaps one of the only conservative voices at the network, has been vocal about his support for Trump.
Jennings even went to bat for Trump’s selection of Hegseth, despite nitpicking from mainstream pundits questioning the selection.

“Does anyone have confidence in the current leadership of the Pentagon, and the way the defense situation has been operating for the last several years?” Jennings pointed out.
“I mean, from the Afghanistan pullout — which was an extreme debacle for which no one was held accountable. We’ve had spy balloons flying over the United States. We built a $300 million pier [for aid in Gaza] as a public relations stunt, which wound up killing an American service member,” he rattled off.
“I hear all the criticism of him is that he’s not the expected Washington pick. And I’m just saying to you that the American people just voted against the expected Washington pick,” he said, referring to Trump’s historic election win last week.
Jennings’ quick-witted personality and confidence to stand his ground perhaps caught the eye of conservatives hoping he could be a voice of reason with the media in the press room at the White House.
Here’s a snippet of the flooding of support Jennings is getting for being on Trump’s cabinet.
Scott Jennings is just toying with the libs at this point.
Make this dude press secretary and don’t think another second about it.

In addition to his time serving with George W. Bush, Jennings also previously advised current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), managing his 2002 reelection campaign.
He is also a founding partner for RunSwitch Public Relations.
