To hear the Left tell it, President Donald Trump has finally done it this time. He’s made the fatal mistake that will turn public opinion against him.
He’s sent National Guards troops to Washington, D.C., to clean up street crime…and Democrats say that proves he’s a tinhorn dictator cut from the mold of Mussolini.
Ultra-wealthy California governor Gavin Newsom, who has been running for president since he was mayor of San Francisco, said there’s only one problem to solve in Washington: President Trump’s dictatorship.
“He will gaslight his way into militarizing any city he wants in America,” Newsom insisted. “This is what dictators do!”
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, another super-rich 2028 Democratic presidential hopeful, insulted President Trump as a “wannabe dictator” who wants to “occupy American cities for political gain.”
“Trump is trying to militarize our cities,” said Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass. “It’s what dictators do.”
The commander-in-chief is “playing dictator in our nation’s capital as a dress rehearsal as he pushes democracy to the brink,” claimed Democratic Congressman Chris Van Hollen of Maryland.
President Trump waved off their criticism at his recently televised Cabinet meeting, saying, “I’m not a dictator; I just know how to stop crime,”
Now, a new poll shows the results are in, and the American people support President Trump—and to make it more humiliating for Democrats, the message came from Harvard.
In all, 54 percent of American voters support President Trump “declaring a crime emergency in Washington, D.C.” and “ordering National Guard troops to expand their presence in the city,” according to a Harvard Center for American Political Studies (CAPS)-Harris poll released on Monday, August 25.
That number includes almost exactly half of registered independents but only about one out of every four Democrats.
Exactly half of voters also support “placing Washington, D.C.’s police department under federal control.”
Again, 55 percent of voters told the Harvard pollsters sending the feds to patrol D.C.’s streets seems “justified and necessary.” And 53 percent of voters say it will make the nation’s capital “more safe,” while just 21 percent claim the move makes conditions “less safe.”
“It’s clear Trump is moving from immigration to crime as a major focus,” said Mark Penn, co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris poll, “and his efforts are receiving strong Republican and independent support.”
It’s not just one poll. A total of 81 percent of all American adults believe city crime is a “major problem,” including 68 percent of Demcorats, according to the AP-NORC poll released Thursday.
AP found 53 percent of Americans favor President Trump’s crackdown on crime—but only a puny 16 percent of Democrats feel the same way.
President Trump sent in National Guardsmen after a would-be carjackers brutalized a DOGE expert nicknamed “Big Balls”—and thanks to his decisive action, crime is down…way down.
Even D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser admitted during a press conference on Wednesday, “We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city.”
Bowser went on to own her own party on crime after crime.
“The difference between this 20-day period of this federal surge and last year represents a 87% reduction in carjackings,” Bowser said.
And it’s not just one area of crime: The streets are safer across the board.

Overall, crime fell by 15 percent. Violent crime fell 45 percent.
Crime fell significantly in every single category, as memorialized by a chart of crime stats released by her office and posted online by local media.

Other cities could benefit from a similar clean-up—and Harvard/CAPS found three out of four voters believe President Trump will do the same thing in more cities in the future.
Chicago set the record for most murders in any U.S. city last year, reporting 573 homicides, according to the Rochester Institute of Technology Center for Public Safety Initiatives.
Pritzker “should be calling me, and he should be saying, ‘Could you send over the troops, please? It’s out of control,’” said Trump.
“When we’re ready we’ll go in and we’ll straighten out Chicago, just like we did D.C.,” President Trump told reporters last Friday during a World Cup event.
“Chicago is a mess. You have an incompetent mayor, grossly incompetent,” said the president, referring to socialist mayor Brandon Johnson.
“African-American ladies, beautiful ladies, are saying, ‘Please, President Trump, come to Chicago!” the president stated. They’re “screaming for us to go. They’re wearing red hats.”
But that’s just the beginning of a bigger, broader, blue state-busting crime crackdown.
“I think Chicago will be our next, and then we’ll help with New York,” predicted President Trump.
The president also suggested he could send the National Guard into Baltimore, only 38 miles from the District of Columbia.
“Trump has launched takeovers of blue cities. Is Atlanta next?” asked the liberal Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
President Trump’s MAGA supporters know crime is a problem. The Fake News media know crime is a problem. Even RINO Never Trumpers know crime is a problem.
Former Ohio governor and failed 2016 Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich recently set MSNBC straight when a guest called the whole issue a “manufactured crisis.”
“I heard that this is a manufactured crisis. No, it’s not! It is a crisis!” Kasich told MSNBC’s Chris Jansing on Monday. “Have you been in Chicago? Have you been in Baltimore?”
Chicago, which he described as “a jewel” of a city, hit close to home for the former governor. “My daughter went to school in Chicago. I remember the day she graduated, there were shootings and killings right outside of her building,” Kasich continued.
He also singled out Baltimore. “I have friends that go down to Johns Hopkins to get treated for medical conditions. I mean, they are nervous about ever going there. There are parts of Baltimore that he tells me he wouldn’t go into, and this is not some right-wing person,” Kasich said. “This is somebody who wants to be able to go into some of our great cities and be able to be safe.”
This MSNBC host just got a brutal fact check by former Ohio Gov. John Kasich on the alleged "manufactured crisis" surrounding crime in blue cities.
This may be the last appearance for Kasich, as he just broke their entire narrative apart.

Kasich, the media, and Bowser may have finally caught on to what her residents always knew: D.C. streets are already a war zone. Thanks to President Donald Trump, the good guys are finally fighting back.
