President-elect Donald Trump has a big inauguration party planned — and everyone is invited.
Trump will host a big “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” at Washington’s Capital One Arena on January 19, just one day before his formal inauguration at the United States Capitol building.
The 20,000-seat venue will open doors at 11 a.m. for the 3 p.m. event.
“We have made our arena available to every administration for inaugural events, dating back decades, irrespective of party,” a Monumental Sports & Entertainment spokesperson said in a statement.
Security measures include anti-scale fencing around the Capitol complex and coordinated efforts between federal and local authorities to ensure safety of all the guests.
“While road closures and delays are to be expected, we strive to minimize disruptions to the public,” a Secret Service spokesperson said.
The rally precedes Trump’s January 20 inauguration as the nation’s 47th president, where JD Vance will be sworn in as the 50th vice president.
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser addressed security preparations in November, noting “the kind of security apparatus is structured differently because it’s a national special security event.”
