President Donald Trump has promised his second term will give America a new golden age but Democrats hope 2028 begins an iron age—because they plan to put all the president’s supporters in jail.
One of the top 2028 hopefuls said, if he becomes the next president of the United States, he will hold Republicans “accountable” for supporting President Trump in a court of law.
In the next Democratic administration, Republicans who actively followed President Trump’s orders will be “criminally prosecuted, civilly prosecuted,” said Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
He declared many of President Trump’s political actions have “broken the law” and Democrats have “got to restore the rule of law” in a podcast interview with New York Times reporter Lulu Garcia-Navarro.
He even had the gall to call the GOP imprisonment plan “Project 2029,” a play on the Heritage Foundation’s agenda for the Trump administration, Project 2025.
It’s not the first time he’s promised to send his political opponents to the slammer. Last month, in a podcast interview with former failed Republican strategist Steve Schmidt, Pritzker said the Democrats are already preparing the paperwork.
Democratic Illinois Governor JB Pritzker speaks about a Democratic "Project 2029" in which members of the current Trump administration, along with federal agents, will be criminally and civilly prosecuted.

“Much of the criminal charges that will take place probably will happen after Donald Trump is president, and we’re gathering the evidence now because it is important to make sure that they’re held accountable,” Pritzker told Schmidt last month.
He’s not alone. As The Horn told you last month, Barack Obama has a hand in the Democrats’ retribution tour, as well.
Susan Rice, who served as one of Obama’s top aides including a stint as National Security Advisor, said the next Democrat to get elected will punish those who cooperated with President Trump.
“It’s not going to end well for them,” she said in an online video. “If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to play by the old rules…they’ve got another thing coming.”
“There will be an accountability agenda,” said Rice between gritted teeth. “This is not going to be an instance of forgive and forget.”
What she didn’t say is, it’s already underway.
Susan Rice offers a taste of what’s coming should the left retake power — promises Democrats will punish corporations and other institutions who have “taken a knee to Trump.”

Democrats plan to investigate “major institutions — including billionaires, major law firms and universities — (that) chose to cooperate with the Trump administration, according to people familiar with the conversations,” reported Axios earlier this month.
They mean literally any collaboration, including universities that agreed to drop controversial DEI policies that discriminate against Asian and white students.
California Senator Adam Schiff, who led the first Trump impeachment, has lead plotter-in-chief of Democrats harassing the president’s allies, together with fellow Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee like Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.
Last month, Schiff and Blumenthal led another group of Democratic senators—including Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Dick Durbin, and Gary Peters—in accusing Freedom 250, an organization that is raising money to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, of “pay-for-play access and “potential conflicts of interest.”
It’s not just Democrats who believe electronic ballots could lead MAGA Republicans to a cement cell. Some of President Trump’s closest allies take this threat seriously.
Last November, top Trump campaign leader Steve Bannon told a room of President Trump’s supporters, “If we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included.”
“They’re not going to stop,” said Bannon. “They’re getting more and more and more radical.”
But can Pritzker win the 2028 election?
BANNON: As God is my witness, if we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included. They're not going to stop. They're getting more and more radical, and we have to counter that. And what do we have to counter it with? We have to… pic.twitter.com/FHQMg9HQwW

Although he’s yet to officially throw his hat in the ring for the Democratic presidential primaries, Pritzker told Kristen Welker of Meet the Pres he “can’t rule anything out” about 2028.
Don’t take our word for it; listen to one of the most legendary political operatives in the Democratic Party.
Gov. JB Pritzker on Sunday’s “Meet the Press with Kristen Welker” said he’s not ruling out a 2028 presidential run — and called President Donald Trump a “cheater” in his personal and professional life.https://t.co/tDZGgpHimI

James Carville, who managed successful political campaigns that put Bill Clinton in the White House despite Bill’s his well-known public flaws, says, “If I were like betting the Kentucky Derby and I saw this 12-to-1 horse and I said, ‘Yeah, I want to get a price,’ I’d take J.B. Pritzker.”
The only Democrats who have the ability to go all the way in the 2028 race are Pritzker, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Carville says, but Pritzker has an advantage over the other two: money, and lots of it.
“He’s worth $3 billion and won a million-and-a-half dollars shooting craps and blackjack in Las Vegas! That makes people like him!” said Carville. “I bet you there’s not a black church in South Carolina that J.B.’s not a part of the building fund committee.”
Will the 2028 presidential election come down to J.B. vs. J.D.?
The big loser in the early 2028 hustings is former Vice President Kamala Harris.
“No Democrat wants anything to do with anybody that had anything to do with 2024,” said Carville. “I don’t think there’s no enthusiasm” for a third Kamala Harris presidential candidacy.
But there is enthusiasm for show trials, jail cells, and loads of political punishment for anyone who dared to defy them—even when the majority of Americans demanded it.
There may be one light for Republicans if Democrats win 2028 and, ironically, it comes from President Donald Trump.
As long ago as 2016, presidential candidate Trump promised, if he ever got the power to prosecute Hillary Clinton, he’d “locker her up.”
Eight years later, he said the Biden administration’s use of the autopen voided nearly all his pardons and could open people like Dr. Anthony Fauci or members of the bogus January 6 Commission to prosecution.
He also said he’d release the full Epstein files and take vengeance against anyone within reach of the law.
He hasn’t done any of that—at least, not yet—and his supporters are beginning to wonder if he ever will.
But will Democrats be as slow to act if they win in 2028?
