If you don’t like wearing a mask, limiting the number of people you see, or giving up big social events, you’re not alone: The nation’s leading Democrats don’t, either. In fact, they hate it so much that they’ve been caught breaking their own guidelines—again.
The idea that liberals can avoid the same rules they force you to follow goes all the way to the top. Former President Barack Obama announced he wanted to throw a 700-person party for his 60th birthday.

Technically, only 500 of those are there to party — 200 of the people on the list were Obama’s personal servants. But all the best people were invited: Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, and George Clooney were among the 475 confirmed guests, according to a report from Axios.
If Donald Trump were to hold this, it would be called a “superspreader event.” That’s what the media called anti-lockdown protests, pro-Trump rallies, even events in the White House’s Rose Garden celebrating the historic Supreme Court nomination of Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
But 700 people crammed into one house—even a $12 million luxury mansion on Martha’s Vineyard? No problem.
That violates the advice government officials give ordinary American citizens. Joe Biden said if enough of us were vaccinated, we might be able to have a small barbecue in our backyards on Independence Day.
In the last few days, Dr. Francis Collins of the National Institute of Health said that it would be fine for people to have small parties of maybe “six or eight people who are all fully vaccinated.” But “if there were 100 people? And, of course, how are you really going to be sure about people’s vaccination status?”
But Obama only turns 60 once, and he’s having a birthday bash, Delta variant be damned.
The former president is not the only Democrat who can’t resist the urge to party down, regardless of health mandates…even if those health orders were issued by their own office.

The mayor of Washington, D.C.—Democrat Murial Bowser—was busted going maskless at a wedding she officiated just hours after she handed down a mask mandate to the little people, like you and me.
Bowser issued an order that all residents from the age of two up wear masks indoors when they’re in the nation’s capital, whether they’re vaccinated or not. That order went into effect on Saturday at 5 p.m.
But that afternoon, she officiated a wedding at The Line DC hotel in D.C.’s elite Adams Morgan neighborhood.
She walked around, sat down to eat, and mixed with hundreds upon hundreds of guests—all without a mask.
Unfortunately for her, one of the guests was journalist Tiana Lowe of the conservative Washington Examiner, who reported on it.
Caught red-handed, Bowser lied and issued a statement saying she “wore a mask indoors in compliance with the mandate.”

But Lowe released video of the mayor going maskless in the enormous wedding party.
It’s pretty damning—but Bowser may not be in trouble, because order says it doesn’t apply to “federal government or legislative branch of the district government while those persons are on duty.”
In other words, her rule says that rules are for other people. How elitist.

But at least one Democrat thinks that average citizens ought to get in on the mask-free party atmosphere. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot decided to go forward with holding the enormous musical festival Lollapalooza in the Windy City, regardless of the Delta variant outbreak.
“At the same time she’s threatening possible restrictions if cases rise above 200 per day, Mayor Lori Lightfoot is moving forward with plans to bring 100,000 a day to Grant Park for Lollapalooza,” wrote Chicago Tribune reporter Gregory Pratt.

Lightfoot even appeared at the event and told everyone in attendance, “Thank you for masking up and vaxing up.”
The mayor defended herself on the grounds that the festival is an outdoor event—but those tourists will be going to restaurants and hotels afterwards.
The annual motorcycle gathering in Sturgis was also an outdoor event, but the media crucified South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem for letting it go forward.

And President Joe Biden canceled a fireworks display at Mount Rushmore.
Maybe Lightfoot felt guilty, because she’d been caught breaking her Covid lockdown orders in the past by getting her hair done.
Then again, it seems like Democrats don’t feel much shame about breaking their own rules.
