Favorbility of the Democratic Party has sunk to a near all-time low amongst its voters. And things have gotten so bad, even mainstream outlets like CNN and NBC are broadcasting the dire numbers for the party.
Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening.
A recent CNN poll showed the party with a record-low 29% favorability rating.
The same poll also highlighted that 52% percent of Democratic-aligned adults said the leadership of the Democratic Party is currently taking the party in the wrong direction, compared with 48% who said the party’s leaders were taking them in the right direction.
And a NBC News poll released earlier this month found that only 27% of voters said they had a positive view of the Democratic Party, while an astounding 55% of voters said they have a negative view of it.
And the cherry on top?
These approval ratings for the party are the lowest since March of 2018.
It’s so bad, CNN numbers guru Harry Enten reported in mid-March about how Democrats had a 21 percent favorability rating among voters per a new at the time Quinnipiac University poll, even citing that “you can’t get worse than these numbers.”

Ouch!
So how exactly did the Democratic Party get here?
If you read the data, the major takeaway is voter’s disconnect with the party’s leadership.
Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has faced intense backlash from his own colleagues over his support over a Republican-led government funding bill.
His decision to back the bill to avert a government shutdown spilled over into a full-blown war of words with his long-time Democratic colleague and ally — Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
During a recent press conference in San Francisco, Pelosi argued that Schumer made too many concessions to Republicans when he abruptly announced that he would vote to advance the GOP-crafted government funding bill.
“I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” Pelosi said.
“I think that’s what happened the other day.”
In addition to Pelosi, Schumer’s fellow New Yorker, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., described his decision to compromise with Trump’s administration as a “betrayal.”
“There is a deep sense of outrage and betrayal,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters.
“And this is not just about progressive Democrats. This is across the board, the entire party.”
And speaking of congressional leadership, and lack of confidence in it, let’s not forget the ongoing antics of Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-T.X., who is quickly becoming one of the biggest stars in the Democratic Party because of her mouth
While recently speaking in front of the Human Rights Campaign, Crockett called Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been in a wheelchair for decades, “Governor Hot Wheels.”
CROCKETT: “So we out in deez hot *** Texas streets, honey. Y’all know we got governor hot wheels down there. Come on now, and the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot *** mess, honey.”

The escalating Democratic Party infighting and antics come at a challenging time for Democrats, who are still reeling from their electoral losses and searching for an effective opposition strategy against the Trump administration.
And the party’s once-loyal voters are finally starting to voice their displeasure.
