The next shoe is about to drop on Joe Biden.
Weeks after the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign was rocked by sexual harassment charges, Democrats of all stripes are demanding a full-scale investigation into the allegations — and some are openly backing a “Dump Biden” movement.

Tara Reade, a former aide to Biden when he served as a U.S. Senator, has accused him of sexually assaulting her in December 1992.
Biden kept mum about the charges for weeks before denying her accusations last week on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “It was 27 years ago,” Biden said. “The fact is that I don’t remember. I don’t remember any complaint ever having been made.”
That was supposed to put the issue to rest — but his fellow Democrats just won’t let it die. “We need an investigation,” said Senator Ed Markey, D-Mass., last week. The liberal Democrat said investigators needed to have all the “independence that will then ensure that the facts are established.”
Another one of Biden’s former colleagues, Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., agreed.
“I think it’s important to have appropriate independent scrutiny brought to bear” on the claims that Biden inserted his fingers into an aide’s private area, he said.
The probe requested by Markey and Merkley makes for a muddy future for Biden.
They’re joined by the last Democratic vice presidential nominee, Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., who said, “I want to get all the Senate records” on the shocking revelations.

Biden’s possible history of sexual imposition has united feminists with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. supporters, and cut the Democratic Party in two. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. has said hushing up Reade’s allegations is “the exact opposite of integrity.”
Now, members of her left-wing “Squad” are pressuring Biden to keep talking about the losing issue.
“I reject the false choice that my party and our nominee can’t address the allegations at hand and defeat the occupant of the White House,” she wrote in an article for Medium.com.
“I’m here to ask the Biden campaign and the nominee to give a response that models the empathy … that this conversation demands,” she continued.
And she demanded her fellow leftists hold Biden’s feet to the fire until every question and doubt about his behavior is answered.
“We are required to raise our hands and our voices,” she wrote. “I, for one, will be listening.”

But this raises a serious question: Why would Democrats be asking Biden to focus on devastating charges that make him look like a sexual predator during an election year — especially when the media have been content to let him slide?
Some pundits are openly admitting they want the Democratic National Committee to remove Biden as their nominee before the fall election.
The New York Times published an op-ed, on Sunday titled “Democrats, It’s Time to Consider a Plan B.”
Its author, Elizabeth Bruenig, called Reade’s indictment “a serious liability” that “will demoralize voters and place Mr. Biden at a disadvantage against Mr. Trump in the general election.”
“Democrats ought to start considering a backup plan for 2020,” she wrote. “Democrats need to begin formulating an alternative strategy for 2020 — one that does not include Mr. Biden.”
The article sent shockwaves through the Democratic infrastructure. Neera Tanden, a top-level advisor to Hillary Clinton, said the column proves the party’s left-wing base is out to topple Biden and deepen the party’s civil war.
For Democrats who worry that this situation is a means by which the hard left can relitigate a primary in which their preferred candidate lost, and thereby supplant the will of the voters, a Bruenig column like this is not going to be reassuring. https://t.co/iCVgwtNMLl

“THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY IS NOT OVER,” Daou, who supported Sanders this year, tweeted. “Those who already voted did not know the details of the NINE sexual assault and/or harassment allegations against #Biden.”
THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY IS NOT OVER.
Millions of voters have not yet been heard.

Any former candidate can restart their campaign and the people can speak.

The worst news for the candidate doesn’t come from the Senate, the Squad, or NYT: It comes from likely Democratic voters. A majority of liberal voters said they want Biden replaced with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the top of the ticket. Cuomo beat Biden by 12 points in a poll conducted by the conservative Club for Growth.
Tara Reade’s sexual harassment allegations could be the silver bullet Biden’s enemies use to take him out.
