After just half a year in office, President Joe Biden and his allies may have already wrecked the Democratic Party because of their obsessive focus on just one topic.
And it’s not former President Donald Trump.
It’s Critical Race Theory.
And they’re earning a big, fat F on this issue in the public eye.
The controversial idea teaches school kids that white people are born as oppressors thanks to their “white privilege.” But black kids and Hispanics are born oppressed… and there’s nothing they can do about it to change their lives.
Because of “systemic racism,” all they can do is elect (mostly white) liberal Democrats, who will redistribute the wealth through Big Government programs.
Parents from every racial background — black, white, and brown — have said they hate this idea. White people don’t want their children taught to feel guilty over slavery or segregation, which of course ended way before the kids were born.
Black and Hispanic parents say that CRT teaches their children to look down on themselves and feel hopeless, like nothing they do matters.
“My children will never be taught to be ashamed of or apologize for who they are because of their skin color,” a parent said in Palm Beach, Florida.
Unfortunately, white, college-educated liberals fell in love with CRT. They think it explains everything about America, past and present, and they want to force everyone else’s children to learn this theory.
They brought the 1619 Project, which said America was founded when the first slaves were brought to the colonies, into the public schools.
But concerned parents have found out—and they want CRT out of the schools at once.
Americans who have heard of critical race theory think it’s a terrible theory that has no place in taxpayer-funded schools, according to a recent YouGov poll.
More than two out of three people say teachers shouldn’t tell students that “America was founded on racism and remains structurally racist today.”
But even that huge difference doesn’t capture it: The majority of Americans who’ve heard of CRT are deeply opposed to it. 53 percent say they have a “very unfavorable” view of the racial-socialist theory. Less than half that many have a “very favorable” view.
55 percent say it’s “bad for America”… and there’s a unique split: 85 percent of Democrats say CRT is “good for America,” while 88 percent of Republicans and 72 percent of independents say it’s “bad for America.”
A lot of the people who think CRT is tearing America apart are suburban women who helped swing the 2020 election to Joe Biden.
Politico reported that parents have been rising up against CRT at public school meetings “in Democratic and left-leaning communities including the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.; Palm Beach County, Fla.; New York’s Westchester County; Maricopa County covering Phoenix, Ariz.; and suburban Detroit.”
Joe Biden won four of those five states. But that streak may be all over.
A mother in Michigan told Politico, “Based on everything I have seen in the last year, starting with Covid, I cannot continue [voting for Democratic candidates] in good faith.”
Even though the handwriting is on the wall, Democrats are still showing that they’re more interested in doubling down on extremism than listening to their voters.
Some of them say CRT doesn’t even exist; it’s just “another right-wing conspiracy. This is totally made up by Donald Trump,” said Terry McAuliffe. He’s the former head of the Democratic National Committee. He’s running to get his old job back as governor of Virginia — and he’s a close Clinton family insider: If anybody knows the Democrats’ party line, it’s him.
And the party’s base is telling Democrats to stick to their far-Left ideology, no matter what.
“I don’t think that you can make these angry mobs that are going around the country talking about critical race theory go away by compromising with them,” said Omari Hardy, a Democrat running for Congress in Palm Beach.
So, the Democrats say we should deny the problem and tell parents to shut up.
Republicans, on the other hand, are listening to parents’ concerns and saying they’re on the parents’ side.
“Parents are rightfully concerned that Democrats are using taxpayer-funded schools to turn children into woke activists who think all white people are evil,” said Mike Berg, the spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
