Democratic lawmaker tied to teen murder?!

A shocking act of violence has left a young man dead, a family shattered, and a nation on the edge of a full-blown racial meltdown. But for some Democrats, that didn’t do enough damage.

One of the most extreme liberals in Congress just defended a convicted murderer, because the color of his skin matched hers.

Critics are calling her outrageous comments “stupid,” “vile,” and “shameless.”

An unhinged, uber-liberal Democrat has said that teenage murderer Karmelo Anthony wasn’t so bad, because he only murdered Austin Metcalf once and didn’t use a large knife to do it. Besides, the Democrat added, almost every black woman alive has suffered more than the dead child’s grieving parents.

The Horn told you that a jury convicted Anthony of killing Metcalf in cold blood last April 2 during a high school track meet held in the Dallas suburb of Frisco.

Anthony, who attended Frisco Centennial High School, sat inside a tent that belonged to Metcalf’s Memorial High School when the two young men, then 17-year-old juniors, tussled.

Multiple eyewitnesses testified that, when Metcalf asked Anthony to leave, Anthony challenged him to “touch me and see what happens.” After Metcalf shoved him, Anthony pulled a knife out of his bag and sank the five-inch blade into Metcalf’s chest, killing him.

A jury convicted Anthony after just two hours’ deliberation on Tuesday. The murderer, who is now 19 years old, will spend the next 35 years in prison.

Metcalf’s family has been sentenced of life without their son. But evidently, one Democrat wanted to spit on his grave: Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas.

Crockett said Anthony’s conviction was racist, that he deserved special consideration because of his race, and that his murder weapon is not “a deadly weapon.”

Crockett’s reign of error began when she started talking about the knife on Tuesday’s episode of her podcast, Clock It with Crockett.

She heard Anthony drove the knife two inches deep into Metcalf’s chest while puncturing his victim’s lung—and apparently believed the entire knife was two inches long.

“I would argue the size of it alone, you wouldn’t even think it’s a deadly weapon,” said Crockett.

According to this left-winger, the knife that murdered a young 17-year-old boy wasn’t actually a deadly weapon, since it was “such a small object.” Got it.

But she wasn’t done. In an interview with TMZ, she said Anthony’s conviction constituted “evidence of a broken system”…and you won’t believe why.

First, she said, Anthony only stabbed Metcalf once.

“He ended up hitting Austin one time” with his knife, the congresswoman told TMZ. “This wasn’t someone who said, ‘Hey, let me stab you five, six, seven times.’”

Of course, Anthony only had to stab Metcalf once to leave him dead.

Jurors should have given Anthony a lighter sentence, because they should think of Metcalf collapsing into a bloody heap and ask themselves, “How intentional, how bad was this?”

Most people agree that murder is as bad as it gets. This Democrat may be the exception.

Second, Crockett said the men and women of the jury in Collin County are racist.

“That was not the county for a black boy,” said Crockett. “I don’t even know if he would have been convicted” anywhere else.

Crockett moved on from insulting jurors to targeting Metcalf’s relatives.

“There was little to no humanity that was seen when this black boy said that (he) was scared,” Crockett continued.

“A lot of people don’t know what it is to live as a black person in this country,” she said. “Black women—especially black women who have black male children—live in agony every single day, a fear and agony that I promise the Metcalfs had never spent a day living.”

Questioning how much anguish a murder victim’s family feels because of their race? Talk about ignoring someone’s humanity!

Crockett’s comments stirred a storm of outrage among conservatives.

Crockett “says she is ‘heartbroken’ that Anthony is going to prison for 35 years. Is she heartbroken that the Metcalf family will never see their son again?” asked libertarian writer Robby Soave. “She feels more for Karmelo Anthony, the killer, because he is black like her, than she does for Austin Metcalf, the victim, because he is white.”

Republican congressmen also weighed in.

“The fact that the Left is even willing…to bring up race in this situation is really disturbing,” Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas, told Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Thursday. The entire controversy proves “common sense is not so common,” he said.

The blogger Sister Toldjah of RedState.com called Crockett “a racial arsonist” and “an absolutely vile and shameless, depraved person.”

“You’d almost think she actually wanted racial tensions to explode,” she added.

“If this were in reverse, they would ‘George Floyd’ the hell out of it,” said Fox News late night host Greg Gutfeld.

“She’s not saying he’s innocent; she’s saying it’s OK” that Antony killed a white male in cold blood, said Gutfeld. But “on the Left, every heartless Bozo gets a hall pass.”

Despite her hideous comments, some good developments have taken place this week.

First, the jury did not get cowed into releasing Anthony or letting him slide based on racial tensions.

Twelve jurors, including numerous minorities, convicted him of murder on Tuesday, and officials transferred Anthony into the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on Wednesday. (The murderer has already filed an appeal.)

Crockett, who has a long history of off-the-wall leftist commentary, did not win her primary campaign for U.S. Senate. She lost to James Talarico, a creepy-looking beta male who preaches that God identifies as “non-binary.” Crockett’s congressional career, at least for now, is over.

Race riots did not break out as they did six years ago almost to the day during the BLM/George Floyd riots of 2020.

Corporations did not hire DEI coordinators and host HR seminars browbeating straight, white, heterosexual, Christian males for their “privilege.” The Trump administration has done all it can to undo DEI programs in the public and private sectors.

The failed attempt to fan the racial flames over Anthony’s conviction proves that, although the Democrats are repeating the same old socialist talking points, Americans aren’t listening anymore.

The United States collectively looked Crockett and her ilk dead in the eye and repeated Jack Nicholson’s words in As Good As It Gets: “Go sell crazy someplace else. We’re all stocked up here.”

A murderer got Texas justice, a leftist Democrat had her political dreams destroyed, and a country held on to common sense and common humanity.

That’s the least Austin Metcalf deserves.
