A strong majority of Virginia voters say they don’t want a Democratic leader that moonlights as a porn star to represent them — and the situation has become a slow train wreck for Democrats in an upcoming critical election in Virginia.
Last week, opposition researchers discovered that Democratic candidate in the critical 57th District election, Susanna Gibson, was moonlighting as a porn star on the x-rated website Chatterbate, where she frequently performed sex acts with her husband for tips.
When asked about the scandal, only 30 percent of Virginia voters think Gibson should remain in the race after her hardcore pornographic career was uncovered.
According to Founders Insight poll, 56 percent of voters think Gibson should drop out.
Even among Democrats, 44 percent said Gibson should step back. Only 39 percent said she should continue campaigning for the seat.
Despite pressure, Gibson has refused to step down in the race for the important swing district. The 57th District will help decide control of the Old Dominion state Senate.
She has accused Republicans of violating Virginia’s revenge porn law.
“A criminal act has occurred here, and that’s the dissemination of revenge porn by a Republican operative,” Watkins told the Associated Press.
Gibson put her pornographic videos on the public website for years. She would perform for viewers by herself, or with her husband.
In one clip obtained by The Daily Mail, Gibson tells her husband, “I’ll let you f*** me in the a** doggy style in a private room if someone wants to pay. That’s the deal.”
“Y’all can watch me pee if you tip me and some tokens – again, I’m raising money for a good cause,” she reportedly said in another clip.
Gibson is also seen talking about her forcing her husband into an open, “ethical non-monogamy” relationship, and said that her husband “doesn’t like sharing.” her with other strange men.
“Sometimes I have to though,” her husband said in the video. “She makes me.”
Gibson is a 40-year-old mother of two. She said the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 decision overturning Roe v. Wade propelled her into the race.
The 57th District chose Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, by a 51.2%-to-48.3% margin in 2021, but in the 2022 congressional midterm elections, the split in the district was 50% Democratic to 49.1% Republican.
