It’s only been 24 hours since former Vice President Joe Biden announced he was running for president.
And 24 hours was all Biden needed to remind America of his notoriously horrible judgment.
Biden expected his campaign kick-off to be met with praise and fanfare… instead, he’s already spent a day trying to explain a new round of foolish decisions.
Instead of gaining momentum, Biden is already running on fumes.
His first crazy decision was announcing the appointment of Symone Sanders as senior adviser — essentially the first big decision of his campaign.
Of course, questions immediately surfaced about whether Sanders even prefers Biden as a candidate at all.
She’d previously worked on Sen. Bernie Sanders’, I-V.T., doomed 2016 campaign… and reporters quickly discovered that she had made a recent campaign contribution to Indiana mayor Peter Buttigieg, who is running against Biden.
And that’s not even the worst part…
Before taking the job with Biden, Symone Sanders had told CNN, “We don’t need white people leading the Democratic Party right now.” Hiring Sanders turned into an immediate scandal for Biden… but Ol’ Joe wasn’t done by a longshot.
It appears that, before his campaign announcement, Biden did little to build a bridge with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. And its members, including New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, immediately came out swinging against Biden’s candidacy.
So, of course, Biden and his representatives had to spend part of their first day on the campaign trail explaining why a large section of his party thinks he’s unfit for office.
And Biden STILL wasn’t done…
After former President Barack Obama stopped short of fully endorsing his veep’s candidacy, Biden sent out a spokesperson to declare that he’d officially asked Obama NOT to endorse him.
Of course, no rational person believed this nonsense… and the explanation became a running joke in the press, adding fuel to the story of Obama’s non-endorsement.
In just 24 hours, Biden… supposedly the most experienced and qualified candidate in the Democratic Party’s 2020 class… proved he can’t stop tripping over his own feet.
And Biden certainly has a history of embarrassing gaffes. He’s spent weeks fending off accusations from women that he touched them without permission… and he has a history of making wild, racially insensitive comments.
This marks the third time Biden has run for president. His terrible judgment and gaffes ruined his previous two candidacies… and he’s well on his way to ruining this one, too.
