The Conservative Political Action Conference 2020 (CPAC) has set the stage for the re-election campaign of President Donald Trump with the theme of “America versus Socialism.”
Rising conservative star Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-T.X., was tasked with opening the Washington, D.C. conference on Wednesday and wasted no time in establishing a combative, pro-America tone.
Crenshaw shared a powerful one-minute video explaining why socialism doesn’t work that wow’d the crowd — and The Horn News was there.
“This is why socialism doesn’t work, in one minute,” Crenshaw said.
“Socialism doesn’t work because it removes human incentive – and we actually need incentives in our lives. I mean, we engage in economic activity, we produce things, we work because there’s a reward at the end.”
“That’s basic human nature,” he said. “Socialism goes against basic human nature. It believes we don’t need incentives at all. It actually believes that a few altruistic people will do all the work, with no rewards at the end.”
“Now, of course, that’s not true,” Crenshaw continued. “That won’t actually happen. So how does socialism achieve it’s end goal? Well, it forces people to work.”
“It takes their wages, infringes on their freedoms, makes people do what the government wants them to do for the sake of the commune. It never actually works,” he said. “It always ends up in despair.”
“And that’s why Ronald Reagan fought so hard against the Soviet Union – to end the scourge of socialism,” Crenshaw continued. “And we should, too.”
