President Joe Biden’s sudden withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race has sparked intense speculation and controversy, particularly regarding a July 17 incident in Las Vegas — and conspiracy theories have spawned that the White House is hiding information.
While the White House maintains that Biden tested positive for COVID-19, leading to his early departure from the city, conflicting reports and police radio transmissions have fueled rumors about the president’s health.
The Horn News has the stunning audio records of the frantic emergency messaging — shared at the end of the article. Their release has spawned rumors that have reached all the way to the White House.
During a recent press briefing, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy pressed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the matter.
Doocy asked about Las Vegas police radio traffic that suggested officers were racing to secure a hospital emergency room for a potential presidential medical emergency.
Jean-Pierre firmly denied any medical emergency.
“There was not. As you know, the president, when we were in Vegas, tested positive for COVID. We let you all know, and then we flew back here. Outside of that, there was no medical emergency,” she claimed.
Critics weren’t convinced —
I would think they wouldn't. Also what a lot of people have missed is what @RedState's @BrutalBrittany2 pointed out when we first broke the news on 7/22: The restaurant Biden was at when he had this medical emergency is abt 1.5 miles from a pretty large hospital, but Secret… pic.twitter.com/KjvbxXixtM

Police recordings obtained by multiple news outlets paint a more complex picture. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers used the code “421,” indicating a sick or injured person, when referring to the president.
One dispatcher was heard saying, “Right now POTUS is 421. He’s being seen, so we’re kind of waiting to see how this is shaping out.”
Specifically, the timeline of events on July 17 has come under scrutiny:
- Biden visited Lindo Michoacan, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Las Vegas around 1:30 p.m, then gave a radio interview from the restaurant.
- His next scheduled appearance, at the UnidosUS conference, was suddenly canceled.
- Around 2:15 p.m., police began preparing routes to both University Medical Center (UMC) and Valley Hospital.
- Biden remained at the restaurant for about 90 minutes after completing a radio interview without explanation.
- The Secret Service ultimately decided to take Biden directly to the airport at 3:00 p.m.
Mason Van Houweling, CEO of Valley Hospital, confirmed they were alerted around 2:15 p.m. about a possible medical issue with the president.
“We stood ready,” Van Houweling said. “We knew we were dealing with more of a medical issue – definitely trauma and any accidents were off the table.”
In a statement, the LVMPD said, “We did not know the nature of his illness. As a precaution, LVMPD proactively began to shut down roads leading to UMC Hospital. The Secret Service then advised LVMPD the President was going directly to Harry Reid International Airport and would be leaving Las Vegas.”
Adding to the intrigue, Daily Mail senior White House correspondent Emily Goodin reported that Air Force One’s flight from Las Vegas to Dover, Delaware, was unusually quick, with the plane reportedly shaking due to its speed.
The White House didn’t announce Biden’s COVID-19 diagnosis until just before the motorcade left the restaurant.
Jean-Pierre’s statement at the time simply read, “President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all his duties fully during that time.”
Critics and some media outlets have suggested that the COVID-19 diagnosis might have been a cover for a more serious medical event. Some wild conspiracy theorists on social media have even gone so far as to suggest Biden was replaced by a body-double.
Take a look —
Joe Biden has never been 6’ 4” tall like the ‘body double’ towering over Jill and White House aides. And he’s never in his life moved as well as this other ‘body double’ caught on the way to his car. pic.twitter.com/A9ii2B8BB2

However, no concrete evidence has been presented to support these claims.
The controversy has been further fueled by the timing of Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, which he announced from his beach home in Delaware on July 21, just days after the Las Vegas incident.
As speculation continues, the White House maintains its position that there was no medical emergency beyond the COVID-19 diagnosis.
Jean-Pierre emphasized, “People are still testing positive for COVID,” in response to ongoing questions.
The full extent of what transpired in Las Vegas on July 17 remains unclear, and barring further official White House disclosures or concrete evidence, the event will remain a subject of debate and speculation.
