President Donald Trump has put together a Cabinet so extraordinary that the legacy media can’t stop bashing it.
But in all its stories, there’s one fact the other media outlets haven’t told you: Not one, but two former Democratic presidential candidates have agreed to serve in the Trump-Vance administration.
Everyone knows President Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had a relationship long before the president-elect tapped RFK Jr. as his secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
But there’s another former Democratic presidential hopeful who has come forward with an offer to work with the Republican most of his party smeared as “literally Hitler.”
Even after RFK Jr. dropped out of the 2024 Democratic presidential primaries, this candidate kept trying to offer the Democratic Party a democratic choice other than President Joe Biden.
Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., came in a distant second in the 2024 presidential race…but now, he’s willing to cross the aisle to work with President Donald J. Trump.
During an interview Thursday on the cable news network NewsNation, an interviewer said that Phillips could always offer his services to the incoming administration.
“You’d be willing to go into the Trump administration”” asked the interviewer.
“If there is a job that could help the country and that my skillset would be useful for. Anybody should consider that,” Phillips responded.
Phillips admitted he has not been known as a friendly supporter of the 45th, and 47th, president.
“I am not a big fan of the president himself, but I understand the MAGA movement. I understand why people are angry. I understand why this federal government needs to be reformed,” said Phillips. “But then do it with people with competency and integrity to do it—that’s all.”

Phillips would not be a natural fit, but if Trump found a place for the Minnesota Democrat in his second administration, it would be another way Donald Trump makes history.
Lodge, who was Richard Nixon’s vice presidential running mate in 1960, ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1964 against Barry Goldwater.
President George W. Bush also briefly appointed 1972 Democratic presidential candidate George McGovern as his Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in 2001…but McGovern last ran for president 17 years earlier.
It does not appear that any president has ever named two presidential hopefuls from the opposite party to his Cabinet…or that they lined up to volunteer, as they have for President Trump.
But as Mitt Romney showed during his infamous private dinner with Trump, when he begged the president to name him secretary of state, even Swamp Creatures want to be part of a successful operation.
As The Horn reported, Dean Phillips tried everything he could to get someone else to run against Joe Biden in the 2024 Democratic primaries, because he said Biden is unfit to be president.
“Believe me, there are literally hundreds in Congress who would say the same thing. But they simply won’t f***ing say a word,” Phillips wrote in The Atlantic. “
I would like to see Joe Biden, a wonderful and remarkable man, pass the torch” and “cement this extraordinary legacy,” Phillips said on Meet the Press last August.
The torch-passing comment got Phillips burned.
When Biden refused to step down, Phillips threw his hat in the ring—and the Democratic Party brass squashed it.
Soon, the 55-year-old realized he had burned his bridges and had to go home.
The congressman announced he would retire after three terms in office, effective next January.

Of course, in the end the party dumped Biden and nominated Kamala Harris, the candidate of “joy,” in his place…and they went down in flames.
But even Phillips isn’t the only one speaking out about the unjust state of affairs.
“Where were the Dems criticizing Joe Biden today for not dropping out earlier back in January when Dean Phillips was actually running against him trying to force a primary? Nowhere to be found.” asked Andrew Yang, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate who went on to found his own third party, the Forward Party.
President Trump has already named billionaire Elon Musk to lead his Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, and he has close relationships with wealthy patriots from RFK Jr. to Vivek Ramaswamy.
Could Andrew Yang be the third former Democratic presidential candidate to serve in the Trump administration?
President Trump owes it to himself to choose the best talent available, who share his views and will not use administrative processes, bureaucratic rules, and idiotic red tape to stop him. Most members of the Deep State, from both parties, are bad choices. But good choices exist in both parties, and neither party. Together, people from across the political spectrum are coming together with President Donald Trump to Make America Great Again.
