Joe Biden just got a huge dose of bad news—and to be sure the president saw it, they put it on the uber-liberal CNN.
If the 2024 presidential election were held today, CNN mapped out exactly what it would look like…and it didn’t look pretty for Joe Biden.
President Donald Trump would win outright, piling up more than enough electoral votes to coast to victory in November.
The successful candidate needs only 270 votes when electors meet to cast ballots in the Electoral College, usually about one month after the November election.
President Donald Trump won 272 votes in the Electoral College—two more than necessary.
Joe Biden would win only 225 electoral votes.
Three-and-a-half states split almost evenly. CNN rated Arizona (11 electoral votes), Pennsylvania (19), and Wisconsin (10) as toss-up states. Nebraska allocated electoral college votes based on congressional district, and the Cornhusker State’s second congressional district—with its lone electoral vote—is also too close to call.
But even if Biden pulled off the most unlikely hat trick in politics and carried all of the disputed states, they would amount to only 41 more votes—leaving him four votes shy of the goal line.
Result? Donald Trump returns to office in just over one year with an overwhelming mandate from the American people.
Most of CNN’s map only needed one color: Republican red.
Trump has 28 states (and one congressional district in Maine) “either solidly in his corner or leaning” in favor of the Republican.
Joe Biden has 19 states and Washington, D.C.
CNN tried to bury the map with explanations, excuses, and “context” to cast doubt on their own poll.
“This is an exercise designed to capture where the race stands today. If we have learned anything in recent American political history, it is to expect the unexpected,” CNN states.
“We don’t even know for certain if Biden and Trump will be the two major party nominees in the fall,” the network notes intriguingly. “However, since that appears to be the likeliest choice at this point, we have explored this initial outlook through the lens of a Biden vs. Trump race.”
And Biden got his MAGA hat handed to him.

The results set tongues wagging—and nerves frazzling—all over D.C.
“Obviously take this with a grain of salt, but if this is indicative of reality and holds until November, this year will be interesting,” said Jesse Hughes, a Christian conservative radio personality.
One political analyst pointed out the daunting prospects CNN’s electoral analysis poses to Biden.
“If CO/NM/OR/VA are leans Dem then Arizon, Georgia, Michigan, etc are completely off the board for Biden,” said Drew Savicki.
A map with Joe Biden losing Democratic strongholds, or even holding anything less than a commanding lead, means disaster for Biden-Harris 2024…unless they decide when polls go low, they’ll go lower.
“Bring on the cheating & rigging,” since that’s the “only way for Democrats to win,” said conservative commentator Wayne Allyn Root. “Even CNN is warning Democrats.”

True, Trump would like to win by more than two electoral votes. A faithless elector could bow to Democratic pressure—or death threats—and switch from Trump to Biden, or someone else.
And everyone in politics says it’s too early for Republicans to be complacent, and a few people wondered out loud about some of CNN’s predictions. “Now, it is early, and I have doubts about things like Michigan leaning red,” wrote Nick Arama at RedState.com.
But, he pointed out, “we’ve already seen many data points that are spelling trouble for Biden that seem to back it up,” including “swing states going to Trump” and polls showing that Biden is “starting to hemorrhage people from vital groups he needs, including the young, the more left, black voters, and yes, Muslims in Michigan saying they’re not going to vote for Biden because of his stance on the Israel Hamas war.”
“Even Barack Obama is worried about the election and Trump’s strength,” wrote Arama. “I think it’s fair to say this is one more sign of big trouble for Biden.”
It’s more than fair to say this isn’t the news Joe Biden’s team wanted to hear, especially on CNN.
CNN is famous for fake news—so it could be the poll exists to lull Republicans into a false sense of security in what’s bound to be one of the hottest contested elections in modern history.
But it could also be that CNN thought the states would support Biden, and now the network has painted itself into a corner—and that corner is bright red.
