CNN political analyst Paul Begala was apparently trying to shine some light on a few cockroaches. Instead, the only nastiness that was found was on him.
In a segment on “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” the critic called both Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner “cockroaches.”
According to Begala, that’s why they’re able to last throughout all the White House staff turnover.
“Of course they survived,” Begala said as he laughed. “I mean, cockroaches are going to survive a nuclear war.”
The nasty comment absolutely stunned the panel. Even for CNN, this was too low a blow.
Host Jake Tapper tried to salvage the segment with some dignity and offered Begala an out. “You’re not calling Ivanka and Jared cockroaches?” Tapper asked.
And Begala responded by doubling down with even nastier sentiment.
“No, no I’m talking about a separate class of species.”
It just so happens that the term “cockroaches” was used to describe the victims of the Rwandan racial genocide, a mass slaying left 800,000 dead. This is CNN.
The term also has been linked to Nazi Germany and how they justified the holocaust of the Jewish people.
Begala’s statment echoed virtually the same sentiment that came from Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who in the past has referred to the Jewish as “termites” and claimed Hitler to be a great man.
Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, and their children are all Jewish.
Jake Tapper simply responded, “OK,” and Begala spent the entire segment attacking the White House and everyone in it.
The comments came about from a conversation on survival. The liberal media has placed an even larger microscope over the White House pair following the release of “Kushner Inc.,” a so-called expose on the White House inner-workings, with the sleazy selling points on the front cover: Greed. Ambition. Corruption.
The White House, along with representatives behind Jared Kushner both denounced the book as “fake news.”
