CNN and President Donald Trump are like oil and water – they don’t mix.
But in a shocking turn of events, the network pivoted away from being one of Trump’s biggest adversaries and gave a shocking glimpse of what it’s really like to work in the Trump White House.
No fake news here!
During a recent appearance on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers”, CNN Chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins said the Trump Administration is working seven days a week with little-to-no breaks.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Says the Trump Admin is Working 7 Days/Week

Collins said that covering President Donald Trump’s second term was so frentic and fast, it was causing her to skip breakfast and work weekends because the news cycle, where he was concerned, was “essentially nonstop.”
“So, you’re doing this, every day, ah, you’re in D.C.,” Meyers began. “The pace of the Trump administration seems to be moving pretty quickly. How are you holding up?”
“It is insane,” Collins replied, adding, “And I think everyone is kind of like readjusting and re-remembering what it was like four years ago, pre-four years ago.”
She went on to compare the pace of the Trump administration to that of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden — and referenced a piece published shortly after Biden took office noting the differences between the two.
“I remember when — when Biden first took office in January, The New York Times wrote this story about how quiet the weekends were, because for reporters, every weekend had been just like another — it was like a seven-day work week. And now we’re back to basically where it’s just essentially nonstop every day.”
Collins then told a personal story about how she had gotten up one morning intending to stop for a “nice little breakfast” before she had to go to work covering Trump’s White House, but after walking halfway to her destination, she’d gotten word that the president was preparing to do an early press conference.
“Halfway there, they were like, Trump’s doing a press conference in an hour, and I physically ran back home so I could change and get ready,” she said.
Biden, according to reports, spent approximately 40% of his presidency on vacation, often leaving reporters with little to cover except what he was not doing.
That’s quite the admission, especially from CNN.
However, the news of the Trump’s White House’s work ethic also comes as members of Congress recently wanted to work less — but get paid more.
A few weeks ago, a letter the Congressional Progressive Staff Association (CPSA) was sent to House and Senate leaders, demanded staffers wanted to work a 32-hour workweek with no reduction in pay whatsoever.
“The intensive nature of these roles often causes staffers to seek new positions earlier than they would in a more predictable and sustainable work environment,” said the letter.
Under the proposal, staffers in the nation’s capital would get one day off per week when congressmen are out of town, and those who work in district offices back home would get a day off when the congressman is in D.C.
And everybody would get paid for working 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.
The move drew ire from Capitol Hill, citing the lack of work ethic.
You want to work 32 hours but get paid for 40? Nope. The taxpayers aka your boss, deserve folks who hustle and work hard FULL TIME on their behalf. This is public service after all… https://t.co/oBNRdleWGB

However, this doesn’t sound like anything that will happen under President Trump’s watch — and his White House is clearly serving as the model for how DC is supposed to operate.
