There’s a strong weapon that can be used against the liberal “fake news” that dominates the mainstream media… and you can use it yourself, right now.
It’s something you already have in your home: Your remote control!
Cable viewers are using those remotes to turn off CNN for good — and it’s serious trouble for the cable news giant. The network that’s been repeatedly called out for “fake news” by President Donald Trump suffered a ratings death plunge in April.
The moment Attorney General William Barr released his memo with the key findings in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on so-called collusion, Americans realized they’d been had by the liberal TV network.
TWO YEARS of relentless lies from the left, led by CNN, came crashing down on top of them.
Once Americans figured out that Trump was innocent, they changed the channel in disgust.
The result?
CNN’s ratings plunged by a humiliating 26 percent in April compared to April 2018.
They’re not alone.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell have been spinning wild tales of conspiracy and collusion almost nightly on their network.
And now, viewers are punishing them for it as well. MSNBC’s ratings plunged a stunning 14 percent in April.
Fox News remained number one in both total daytime viewers (down 3 percent from last April) and primetime audience (steady from last year) among cable news. It just finished its 208th straight month — more than 17 years! – leading in both.
MSNBC remained in second place despite the ratings disaster — but it’s not a close second.
The network has just one show in the top five news broadcasts on cable, with Rachel Maddow in third place (despite being down 13 percent overall and 33 percent in the key 25-54 age demographic that advertisers crave).
The rest of the top five are all on Fox News: Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham and “The Five.”
CNN not only wasn’t in the top 5. None of its shows even made the top 10. Or the top 20.
Not even the top 25.
The highest-rated show on CNN was Chris Cuomo, who ranked at 26th!
That could spell doom for the network’s big personalities. Cuomo is the highest at 26th — Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon didn’t even register on the leaderboard.
The three have served as TV’s biggest collusion cheerleaders, spewing out fake accusations against the president every night.
But with no one watching, could their next role be on the unemployment line?
Television is a brutal business that is dictated by numbers. If the ratings fall, so do the advertising rates – and if the advertising rates drop, then there have to be cuts to staff.
That may not even be the worst of the indignities in the newest numbers.
The once-proud network… which pioneered the entire field of 24-hour cable news… is sinking down the overall charts. It barely clung to a spot in the top 10, finishing ninth in total daytime viewers.
But in primetime – again, when Cooper, Cuomo, and Lemon are on the air – it’s nowhere to be found.
CNN has fallen to 15th… behind even Hallmark Channel.
That’s not uncommon in December when the network’s round-the-clock Christmas programming is the TV equivalent of comfort food for viewers and it jumps in the ratings.
But in April?
The network is usually showing repeat romance flicks and “Golden Girls” reruns… and, on Friday nights, they’re showing way-out-of-season Christmas movies in primetime. In SPRING.
Yet these ALL beat CNN.
It won’t be long until network executives demand changes — and start firing talent.
