[FRIDAY FAIL] Chuck Schumer humiliated by CNN

Bad news for Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and the Democratic Party.

They are facing a critical polling crisis they haven’t seen in a very long time.

And even the pundits at CNN are realizing it.

According to CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten, the American people think Democrats were “atrociously awful.”

Congressional Dems' numbers with Dems are atrociously awful. (Even worse among all voters.)

Most Dems (55%) think their party has the wrong priorities!

Unlike 2006 or 2018, Dem leaders have a negative net approval with Dems!

Enten looked back at what the Democrats’ approval of their congressional leaders was in prior years when the GOP held the White House.

According the Enten, tt used to be positive. In 2006, +28. In 2018, +19.

Fast forward to today and it’s -4.

“Even Democrats don’t like their own leaders,” he said.

Enten pointed to Democratic Party leadership as to why the favorability of the party has fell.

Enten stated the leadership of Schumer looked like it might be on “thin ice.”

Enten pointed out how the prediction markets’ numbers on Schumer becoming leader again had dropped, and were now only hovering at about 50% — with some in the Senate saying they didn’t want Schumer as their party leader anymore.

The plummeting favorability of the Democratic Party has been bubbling over for some time now.

NBC News poll released last month found that shows Democrats rank near the very bottom of public opinion, and were ahead of only one entry on the list: Iran’s radical Islamic regime.

The survey, conducted by Hart Research Associates and Public Opinion Strategies between Feb. 27 and March 3, found that 52% of registered voters hold a negative view of Democrats, with just 30% saying they have a favorable view.

That’s a net favorability rating of negative 22 points.

Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) — the agency Democrats have spent months hammering in their messaging — scored a net rating of negative 18, still better than the opposition party could manage.

Even artificial intelligence, hardly a crowd favorite, came in third worst, trailing only the Democratic Party and Iran.

Meanwhile, Trump scored a negative 12 favorability rating and the Republican Party recorded a negative 14 favorability rating, significantly better than their Democratic counterparts.

The low score still represents a slight recovery for Democrats, who had a negative 28 net rating in March 2025, when just 27% of voters viewed the party positively against 55% who viewed it negatively.

But with midterm elections on the horizon, a time when the party not in power tends to come on strong historically, a negative 22 rating is hardly a foundation for Schumer and his allies to build election campaigns on.
