Senator Chuck Schumer publicly expressed his opposition to President Donald Trump’s new tax plan, calling it, “wealth-fare.”
But Senator John Kennedy from Louisiana isn’t letting him get away with it – and said if Schumer opposes the bill he must be “brain dead.”
But he didn’t stop there.
“Lying is a growth industry around here,” Kennedy said. “Our bill will do more for middle-class Americans, working families, ordinary people, whatever you want to call it, than anything this town has done in 50 years.
Kennedy clearly has faith in the bill, and wants to ensure that the public isn’t misinformed by anti-Trump, establishment Democrats.
“I have got to set the record straight on that. Chuck is just not telling the truth about this bill.”
The bill that Trump introduced Wednesday is for “people who get up everyday and go to work and obey the law and pay their taxes that need a little help,” according to Kennedy.
And even though he has full confidence in the bill, majority of Democrats feel otherwise.
Schumer criticized the bill saying, “It seems that President Trump and Republicans have designed their plan to be cheered in the country clubs and the corporate boardrooms.
“It’s nonsense on a stick. He knows that,” Kennedy said in response. He claimed the main reason Republicans are facing opposition is “white-hot hatred for Donald Trump.”
