The media has another meltdown every time President Donald Trump’s calls out “Fake News,” claiming that he’s destroying the freedom of the press. But what happens when thugs from a socialist dictatorship beat up and try to kidnap a reporter in broad daylight?
A media blackout to help their favorite politicians, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders.
The media didn’t say a word when Venezuela’s government tried to stop an American journalist from reporting on the failure of socialism.
Chuck Holton told his viewers that “thugs paid by Venezuelan Dictator Nicholas Maduro’s regime are targeting people for robbery and kidnapping” as they flee into neighboring Colombia—but he had no idea he’d be one of their victims!
“As I was filming along the riverbank, I was attacked by three men who tried to drag me into Venezuela,” he said.
These weren’t just any street criminals. They had been sent there by Maduro to shut down any bad PR… by any means necessary.
Holton, a reporter for the Christian Broadcasting Network, wrote that there were “several signs that these attackers were tied to the regime.” For one thing, they smoked cigarettes, “which most Venezuelans can’t afford since they’re struggling to survive.”
He also knew it wasn’t a robbery attempt “since they didn’t take my camera.”
Instead, they said they grabbed him because he was “an American spy.”
The three men wanted to hijack the reporter, take him to the other side of the border, and have him disappear into the dark cells of this slave-like Hell.
Once they had Holton, these socialists could imprison, or even execute, him.
But Holton is a former Army Ranger who could handle himself, and he broke free from the government’s enforcers with a little help from a Christian missionary.
“While my camera was broken in the confrontation, I was able to get away from my attackers and they fled back across the river,” he said.
He made it home — but hundreds, or thousands, of Venezuelans aren’t as lucky.
Venezuela was one of South America’s most prosperous countries until Maduro and Hugo Chavez turned it into a socialist nightmare (while they were praised for their “income equality” efforts by Bernie Sanders.)
Now, every store has empty shelves, and 70% of the country had no electricity for most of the last week.
Even CNN had to admit that Venezuelans who had the money had to fly to the U.S. to buy toilet paper.
Horror stories like that are why three million people have already left the country by sneaking through towns like Cucuta, Colombia, where Holton was reporting.
Maduro won’t let them escape, and he won’t even let anybody help them.
The Venezuelan National Guard fired tear gas, rubber bullets, and fire bombs on a caravan delivering humanitarian aid—like food and medicine—to his starving people.
But the media was too busy praising “democratic” socialists like AOC and Crazy Bernie to show what happens when their ideas come to power.
Holton called his attempted kidnapping “a powerful lesson in how Maduro’s brutal regime uses its power against these people every day.”
But you didn’t hear a word about it in the Fake News media, because it doesn’t help them attack Republicans.
Instead, these liberal “journalists” paint Donald Trump as the real threat to the media.
As far as they’re concerned, criticizing Jim Acosta or the New York Times is no different than erasing the First Amendment.
“Journalism is threatened by senior officials in our own government,” said CNN President Jeff Zucker during an Overseas Press Club of America awards ceremony.
“Trump Administration Threatens Freedom of the Press in New Leaks Crackdown,” said Newsweek. The “crackdown” was on the Deep State illegally leaking classified information—but the media just can’t resist bashing Trump.
“Trump’s assault on NBC and ‘fake news’ threatens freedom of the press,” according to The Washington Post.
Even before he was elected, the so-called “Committee to Protect Journalists” warned “a Trump presidency would represent a threat to press freedom in the United States, but the consequences for the rights of journalists around the world could be far more serious.”
The Washington Post is so hypocritical that it just published an article by the dictator of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan—one of the world’s worst jailer of journalists.
They don’t care about press freedom. They just hate the way Trump exposes how they force liberal propaganda down America’s throat.
To see a real threat to free speech, you have to live in a country run by socialists like Maduro, Chavez, or AOC.
